Solved BSOD BugCheck Error 0x0000001e

Hello!

- I am using Win 7 Professional 64 bits (OEM)
- This computer is just 1 month old.
- I have reinstall win7 once 2 weeks ago


Problems

1. When i start up my system (from turning off), I will get "Kernel-Event Tracing" error with message " "Microsoft Security Essentials OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D". This happens every single time.

2. I received 2 BSOD today with BugCheck Error. It has a message in event viewer as follows "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e....."

1st BSOD occur when I tried to open a game.
2nd BSOD occur when i open "cmd" and type "ipconfig" on the screen.

I have tried reset BIOS to factory default setting and Clean Registry, but it doesn't help.

I have attached the BSOD dump files and System health report in the thread.

Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks in advances.

Hello, welcome!

It appears SPTD is causing the problem. Please uninstall Daemon Tools, and then remove SPTD with this tool: http://www.duplexsecure.com/download/SPTDinst-v174-x64.exe

Thanks for your help Jonathan and Dean. I have followed your instructions, uninstall Daemon Tools, remove SPTD and undate ASACPI.sys (driver date is 16/07/2009 now)
No BSOD for 2 hrs now, hope it works.... I will come back to update this thread after a few days.

For error message "Kernel-Event Tracing", I have reinstall Microsoft Security Essentials and it solved the problem. Hope this help the others with the similar problem.

I have tried what Jonathan and Dean's suggested. But The BSOD did not go away.
My PC was stable last week, so I have tried system restore. However, it didn't solve the problem.

What even worst was that this morning i have trouble with turning on the computer. When i pressed the power button, all fans were on, but the HD did not spin. I tried to press reset button, turn off/on the PC a few times, and it finally come back on. However, when win 7 was loaded, I've got BSOD straightaway.

I realized whenever I turn off the PC for a period of time (more than one hour). I will get this "turn on" computer problem.

Does anyone know is this problem related to my PSU? Will unstable PSU cause these kind of problems?

Definitely, a bad PSU is a big cause of BSODs and other problems. What PSU are you using?

My PSU is Thermaltake EVO Gaming 550W
I have done Burn-in test on all hardwares and memtest on RAM, no error found

After I turn off the PC for a period of time (eg. overnight), I will have booting problem mentioned above or BSOD after win7 is loaded for a few mins (in idle state, no programs is opened).

However, if I reset BIOS to factory default after BSOD restart, my PC will run very smoothly for 12 hrs, no BSOD or errors.

I tried reset BIOS because I suspected my PSU has messed up my BIOS setting and casing all sort of hardwares problems.

Does it sound like unstable PSU?

I don' t want to reset BIOS everytime I turn on my PC, I will bring my PC to the shop for PSU checking few days later...

Have you tried running Memtest86 on a cold boot?

There is no error on my PSU.

You are right Jonathan, the problem was RAM related. Somehow my BIOS didn't compatible with my single 4GB RAM. Once I updated my BIOS, all problems solved (both BSOD and fail to boot problems).

Someone told me it is better for my PC to have 2 RAM instead of single one because of Dual-channel. I think I will add one more 4GB RAM to my PC lateron.

If anyone experienced the similar booting problems like me, try update your BIOS.
