Hi, I have an HP Pavilion dm4 laptop. It was giving me BSOD everytime I plugged the AC adapter in, then, after a while, it started doing it about every ten minutes or so whether it was plugged in or not. I restored the system to it's original factory settings and this seemed to fix the problem at first. I ran the computer for about an hour, now it's giving the same BSOD about every ten minutes. Also, I ran chdsk and it got stuck in a loop, it would run for a bit, then BSOD, restart, and repeat.

I've attached the dump file to the post.

Thanks for the help

BSOD error code 0x1000007e: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
iaStor.sys is the offender.

First reinstall/install the latest Intel motherboard chipset drivers [Southbridge/Northbridge] get from your motherboard's manufacturer site, then reboot afterwards, if this still persists, or can't find one, try Intel's site, but these are very chipset specific, you could be using the wrong one.
CPU-Z from cpuid.com will inform you of the chipset on the Mainboard tab. [free download]

Other mentioned things on this was running RAM tests. Memtest+ boot disc, find info in Tutorials on this site. [only do this and below if the chipset fix doesn't work]

I would turn off the laptop remove battery and power cable, and check your RAM modules for slippage and dirt. [reseat them at the very least, handle on edges only and gentle... ESD procedures before touching them.]

SFC /scannow
Command from STart | <search/run box> wouldn't hurt either to verify your windows files.
