hello everyone!
Since the installation of my new GPU (nvidia quadro 600) i've been experiencing constant deadlocks at completely random occasions, but using firefox was a certain freeze.
The driver installation went completely fine and i had no problems on the first day, all the correct procedures where followed.
Windows reinstaled my gma's drivers though...(but i unnistalled right after)

I decided then to use driver verifier and during the boot i already got a bsod pointing the problem to the ScpvBus.sys and since then i've been unable to access my computer, also because when i press f8 it brings a boot selection screen instead of startup options...

Using windows startup recovery command prompt i couldn't find the verifier entry in the registry, and was also unable to load the "software" hive because it was "in use by another process"...

And by running verifier on the cmd it said there was no configuration to be deleted, but it still runs on startup and causes an bsod during the boot.

This is why i didn't use the Dm log collector :p

I also have a insufficient generic psu of 250w aprox. But i don't believe this would be the root cause. If necessary, i have another psu, i'am not using it because it doesn't fit in the case, and since it was made for an specific dell computer, the main 24pin cable is too short to be used on my pc, so i will need an adapter

Ps: i dont know why the screenshot got inverted.. Iam posting this through an tablet.

Right now iam really lost and don't know how to proceed.

The Southern Hemisphere image of the BSOD screen reveals the bugcheck code to be stop 0xc9. That means Driver Verifier is enabled there.

Why you have enabled it? Who suggested you to enable it? Have you taken the precautions before enabling it?

If normal boot does not work, even you cannot access safe mode, you may need to perform a system restore. Follow the http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html ... option two. Restore teh system to a time earlier than verifier enabled. Then try to boot normally.

If it boots, wait for another BSOD, and then post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

BTW, the failing module, ScpvBus.sys is Scarlet.Crush Productions Scp Dual Shock 3 Virtual Bus Driver. But it is difficult to determine the required action there without checking the crash dump.

Hey, thanks for the reply, i've decided to use verifier by intuition, i was getting deadlocks at the worst moments possible, loosing a ton of data (or i would have to keep saving my work at every 30 seconds)...
The interesting thing is that i've thought about this driver being the cause, since dualshocks seem to love bsods or deadlocks... been using the dual shock for a long time with no issues... A little frustrating lol..

I just didnt expect it to give me a bsod right at the boot, and that i wouldnt be able to do anything... Iam running the system restoration right now (idk why i didnt run it before).
After that how can i completely remove the faulty driver?
ive been living with completely random deadlocks for two weeks even in safe mode, or in the logon screen...

without the verifier don't get any bsod, just random deadlocks...i used verifier to produce the needed bsod log...
Anyway, i will upload the last bsod log.

Edit: even after completely removing the ds3 driver, i got a deadlock at safe mod while downloading the DM log collector...uploading the dump file shortly...

Disable DV now.

You have a good lot of programs installed. A very few people may need them all at the same time.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
The BSOD indicates to iTunes; and both of them present together is a real threat of BSOD to the system. Uninstall it, too.

mcdbus.sys is as bad as SPTD. Uninstall MagicISO too. Desktops do have the scope of a DVD drive, and those dangerous programs should be avoided.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus (you may keep rainmeter and rocketdock).
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Report us for any further BSOD.

Hey there.
Thank you for the amazing feedback!
Indeed it have a lot of programs...Its a 5 years old computer, a true warrior i must say, never had any trouble with it until now.
I've uninstalled all the requested programs, reinstalled the gpu drivers, cleaned the startup and disabled DV, but now i get deadlocks with no BSOD at completely random ocasions.
i ran DriverView and there aren't any suspicious drivers around...
Maybe it can be something related to PSU? Or even bad hardware?
And should i run DV again in order to generate another BSOD?
I'am currently using internet explorer on safe mode since firefox and chrome seems to increase the possibility of Deadlock...

Edit: How can i be sure that all the files related to the ScpVbus were deleted? i uninstalled using its own unninstaller, but still it left fragments, wich i deleted manualy.

I would suggest you to wait. If there is a further BSOD, let us see the crash dump. Troubleshooting will be done based on that one.

Continue with Driver Verifier then.Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Also, while running verifier, i got a deadlock with no BSOD, could this mean the faulty driver was not selected? It would also imply that the driver is from microsoft.

Disable verifier.

Remove the startup items as stated in post #5.

Then Install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats including BSOD stop 0x124.

I'am not able to check for updates since the windows update always give me an error saying:
Windows could not check for updates since the service is not running. you might need to restart the computer (translated from Portuguese).I found a huge variety of "fixes" on a quick google search, still no positive results.
Also, the Windows Update service is missing from the services.msc window.
Any suggestions?

Edit: Could these Deadlocks be caused by hardware malfunction due to insufficient PSU power?Or even by a malfunctioning GPU, since i have a generic PSU and a used graphics card so i cannot tell the integrity of the GPU. Or should i discard faulty hardware?

After switching to a way more powerful and stable Dell PSU i got two deadlocks on the two times i tried to access the pc in normal mode... But even in safe mode sometimes it deadlock...
Since in safe mode Windows o nly loads default VGA drivers, i think it isn't corrupted or conflicting Nvidia drivers, but it could be an bad hardware, right? My GPU is used and as stated before, i cannot tell its integrity...
And i'am still getting deadlocks, safe mode only "delay" them or decrease the possibilities of it happen, but doesn't prevent it though...

Look I think a run with this would do no harm and it runs from power up and scans everything without involving Windows.
Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 you need to make a bootable disk though on another machine if this one is so bad
