My laptop is a Asus N56JR
where I forced the installation of Win7.

You need not to enable driver verifier.

Upload your MSINFO32.nfo file, so that we can see a bit deeper.

1. Click on the start button
2. Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
3. File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
4. Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
5. Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

some remarks:

1) this notebook came with w8 preinstalled (uefi).
to install w7 i had to disable uefi thing, reformat the hd. then i partioned it.

2) desktop and documents are on the second partition of the same hd, in a custom location.
i would like to signal that sometimes .exe file on desktop wont start.

3) i am only interested in the bsod related to ntoskrnl.exe, for the others generated while trying the driver verifier thing some days ago. i gave up during the tests and restored the last working point. today the new bsod happened while the notebook was suspended.

It is the driver to the PCIe WiFi adapter that is failing the power state. athrx.sys.

But the installed driver is the latest version.

Can you change the power option for wireless adapter as this image?

for both battery and ac/dc connected?
as for ac/dc it was already on maximum performance. i do remember a bsod on acdc connected!

what about rolling back to a surely working driver?

As far as I can say, the installed version is a good one. I personally suggested a lot of users to use that particular version with their networking issue.

Still, as you want, you may try another earlier version. It will not hurt or damage anything, for sure.

until now, no bsod. i'll have a longer time of testing and i'll report back.

after a while it had entered suspension (I had closed the laptop).

In post #5, you wanted to apply an older driver version, but I discouraged you.

Now I am suggesting you to do it, because apparently there is no other way that I am seeing. It is the same Atheros driver that is causing the BSOD.

Also, uninstall Daemon tools and the ASUS bloatwares installed.

Let us know the results.

ok, for the moment i downgraded to
the Win8 Asus version 10.0.0.255, 2013-06-24

removed Asus Face Logno

i'll keep Daemon tools and remaining ASUS bloatwares.

let's see what happens next time I close the cover..

I agree with Arc, Daemon Tools has a really strong reputation for being the cause of a lot of BSODs.

yet it seems that untill now everything is perfectly working, since i have changed that driver.
in a few days of testing, i hope to mark the thread as solved..
