Hi. I have begun experiencing the BSOD. I first encountered while running Vista. I recently upgraded to Win7 and hoped that the problem would resolve - no luck. It is intermittent. Some weeks, no problem. Some weeks, the computer won't shut down and if it sits idle for a while, I get the BSOD.

Details:
Is Windows 7 home premium x64
retail install/upgrade from VISTA ~1 month.
2 yr old hardware.

FYI, my DVD-ROM stopped working a while ago - ran my install off an external drive.
Had problems with the NVIDIA driver - used a clean install and have had no obvious problems. But I suspect one of these devices - don't know how to proceed further.

please see attached zip. FYI, the perfmon html file is in the jcgriff2 folder.

This one Related to AVer88xHD64.sys CX23985 AVStream Video Capture Drive from AVerMedia TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. I would remove it or failing that updated it. Yours is from 2008.

I would also remove Smantec and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product | Norton Support

Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection | Microsoft Security Essentials

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads
