BSOD hal.dll, ntoskrnl.exe pci.sys

No word yet from Dell.

In the meantime the computer could not come back from hibernation this morning, a firmware issue (guessing the video card). System tried to do the system resume. I noticed a Windows update being applied so I guess i did not stop the updates after all.

on the reboot, i tried to immediately do a restore before it was too late, but while it was 'preparing to restore" it trapped. tried again and this time the restore worked.

I am thankful for this workaround that allows me to use this computer until Dell gets here.

I am back with a crash.
Since my last comment I had no crashes. On Dec 28th I think it was, Dell came and installed a new video card.
Still no crashes until this morning.

Do some Disc Checks.

  1. Update your SSD's Firmware
  2. Reseat the sata and power.

re your #4. I already started the long generic Sea Tools for Windows on the hard drive (I thought someone may suggest it). It is still running. The short generic came back as passed. I am not running the DOS version and not running it from a CD, though. Don't know if that makes a difference. This is going to take almost 7 hours to run.

re #1. Update the SSD firmware. I do not know how to do that.

I uninstalled Advanced SystemCare 5 as you instructed (boy they try to scare you with their msgs when you do that)
