BSoD Help Needed!!!

So for while now I've been experiencing regular BSoDs. I was hoping someone on here could help me out with my problem.

I am currently running Windows 7 32-bit, but Vista was originally installed on the system. My computers age is about 2 years (see spec in signature). I installed Windows 7 back in April of 2010. I was getting BSODs on Vista which was one of the reasons I upgraded to Windows 7, so I dont know if its the same issue.

I have attached all data required.

I would really appreciate if someone could decipher these for me and possibly help reduce BSoDs.

Sorry Oli,

I had previously attached the dump files but was in the middle of editing my post when you replied. I have used the collection tool from the posting instructions now to include all data.

Cheers
John

Hi,
This is pretty straight forward, your device driver issue.

First of all, BthEnum.sys was blamed in many dmp files. It is your Bluetooth Bus Extende, please update your bluetooth driver.
Other thing was blamed is USBSTOR.SYS, USBSTOR.SYS is a driver belonging to your system, which controls the usb storage when you plug, or unplug anything with a usb port. What usb device did you experience BSODs when plugged in? If so, please update the driver
Another thing was blamed is iaStorV.sys, it is your Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver (base), please download and install fresh copy of your intel storage driver.

You have so many out of date drivers, please update right away:

Looks like you have a lot of drivers from BUFALO that are out of date. Please take careful steps by steps and install al the drivers.

Focus on updating the drivers that were blamed as well

Tuan,

Many thanks for taking the time to look through this for me. I have looked into all listed for updated drivers and was maybe only 2 or 3 that there were updated drivers for.

My laptop is pretty much on 24hrs a day. I dont often see the BSoD happen but only see it rebooted saying it happened. Never had BSoD when plugging/unplugging USB devices.

I could not get a update driver for the bluetooth so I have reverted to the generic windows driver to see if it makes a difference.

Will see if the updates I have done make any difference also.

Thanks

Carl,

These are the ones I could get updates for:

Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver
Realtek HD Audio Codec Driver
Synaptic Touch Pad Driver

Sony doesnt seem to offer much in the way of update driver. Tried going to the original manufacturer for drivere.g Nvidia and there were updated driver but was recommended by them to go to sony website for updates as they may be modified for my laptop.

Based on that, you need to uninstall the following software if there are no updated drivers available: ArcSoft Magic, Ricoh USB Video Class Image Capture Controller (WebCam?), BUFFALO eco manager, InterVideo regi.sys driver Corel Software Support, SecureLockWare - BUFFALO INC, SigmaTel Audio Driver Freescale Search. This software is obsolete and it is not designed for Win 7.

This latest dump is an error code of 9F and blames disk.sys which is a Microsoft driver and most likely not the cause. Something has conflicted with disk.sys. This is a driver problem.

I was going to advise you to enable Driver Verifier; but with this many very old drivers, it would be futile. These obsolete drivers will continue to cause problems:

bautopw.sys Mon Jul 21 21:21:46 2008 - Uninstall Buffalo

bfturboh.sys Tue Feb 12 08:48:05 2008 - Uninstall Buffalo

DMICall.sys Tue Dec 05 02:14:23 2000 - This driver is terribly obsolete. Windows 2000 DMI Call Kernel Driver belongs to the software Sony DMI Call service by Sony Corporation (www.sony.com).

HSX_CNXT.sys Fri Dec 22 14:48:52 2006 - SoftK56 Modem Driver by Conexant Systems Conexant: Support or go to your computer manufacture to download it

HSX_DPV.sys Fri Dec 22 14:50:21 2006 - See above

HSXHWAZL.sys Fri Dec 22 14:49:02 2006 - See above

mdmxsdk.sys Mon Jun 19 17:26:59 2006 - Diagnostic Interface DRIVER or Diagnostic Interface x86 Driver or mdmxsdk belongs to the software Diagnostic Interface or Diagnostic Legacy Interface or mdmxsdk or Diagnostic Interface x86 Driver by Conexant (www.conexant.com). Update this driver or disable/uninstall the software.

netw5v32.sys Thu Mar 26 12:10:37 2009 - Wireless WiFi Link Driver is a driver file from company Intel Corporation belonging to product Intel® Wireless WiFi Link Adapter. See if there is an update for this driver.

nvlddmkm.sys Fri Jan 11 03:37:00 2008 - NVidia driver. You need to try to update this one from the NVidia site if your computer manufacturer's site does not have an update. A 2008 driver is too old for Win 7.

PxHelp20.sys Wed Jun 20 18:26:00 2007 - Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers. Find this driver and rename it from PxHelp20.sys to PxHelp20.bak. Reboot.

R5U870FLx86.sys Sat Sep 08 00:30:21 2007 - HP Pavilion dv6137tx webcam driver. You can try to update these drivers; but I doubt if this hardware is Win y compatible. If not, rename this driver to .bak as explained above.

R5U870FUx86.sys Sat Sep 08 00:30:16 2007 - See above.

regi.sys Mon Apr 16 11:19:05 2007 - InterVideo regi.sys driver Corel Software Support. Update this driver or uninstall the software.

SFEP.sys Fri Aug 03 01:36:08 2007 - Sony Firmware Extension Parser driver Sony eSupport - Electronics - Select Your Model. Update this driver.

SLWFIL.SYS Mon Jun 18 22:12:42 2007 - Encrypt Filter Driver is a driver file from company BUFFALO INC. belonging to product SecureLockWare. Uninstall this software.

stwrt.sys Thu Sep 13 11:29:43 2007 - SigmaTel Audio Driver OEM - none at Freescale Search. Update this driver.

ti21sony.sys Mon Apr 23 14:27:48 2007 - Texas Instruments PCIxx21 PCIxx12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller OEM - none at Analog, Embedded Processing, Semiconductor Company, Texas Instruments. Update this driver.

I see that you have updated some drivers. Good job. But you have a long way to go. With this many very obsolete drivers, your system is not going to run without crashing. I suggest you start going down this list and update or uninstall one by one. Make a list of any drivers that you cannot find an update for and post that list. We will try to help you with those.

Good luck!
