BSOD in win 7 home 64bit

Hi guys, been experiencing BSOD errors whilst playing BFBC2 and Medal of Honor.
The errors are quite randomly spaced out, and i can go for an entire day without having any BSODs, OR I can keep having them non-stop.
error code seems to be : STOP 0x0000007F

Already updated graphics card drivers and BIOS, but doesn't seem to help.


My pc
Acer aspire m5810
-Win 7 home edition 64bit (OEM)
-4gb ram
-Nvidia GeForce GT230
-intel i5 CPU, 750 @ 2.67GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz

All of these are virtually identical. A bugcheck 7f which is caused by

Bug check 0x7F typically occurs after you install a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or if installed hardware fails.

I would run memtest to test the ram

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.


Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

I would then run a system file check to verify and repair the system files
