please take the time to look through my report for errors, thnx
(background to issue, if issue is fundamental and well known for instance):
Before installing the drivers to my PEAk dual tv/digital pci adapter I have seen on the internet various reviews of windows media centre either crashing or upsetting the registry.
Quite simply the installation dvd for the tv card came with a media suite which never actually finishes scanning for channels and doesnt perform a BSOD itself. The BSOD has come twice before from getting to 97% scanning for channels in windows media centre(nb not hypermedia centre(shipped with tv card)).
So apart from this crash the tv works fine under windows although not entirely confirming its entire scanning of all channels.
A day later: after having rebooted teice and ignoring this crash, hoping my registry settings arent changed like a saw in a review I went about doing various installations of software , like you do on a new build. Out of know where I get BSOD.(this happened just now)
I think I correctly attached the system scan files, put it might be in excel format as I had difficulty getting it into html.
please help though as working efficiently I cannot for the life of me work on a computer that could crash at any random time even once due to something I could solve now. My initial reaction to this BSOD is to re-install the OS and everything as I have done in the past when I get a virus on my old computer. So ideally(unless someone knows) i will go ahead and do this. I have never diagnosed a BSOD/virus/registry problem on a forum before.
edit: (15minutes in) this guy has same card

Taking a large guess in saying perhaps the drivers weren't up to date and they previously edited the registry and performed this BSOD. (if that is even possible).
so I have updated them, removed hypermedia centre, might not install most up to date of this anyway.
important question: why would I get BSOD randomly when not even in windows media centre?. perhaps nothing to do with tv card whatsoever
so im still not satisfied : anyway someone can point to my system report as to how and why old driver would edit registry? thnx
