Based on this active process, the Bitdefender Security Service executable, and a history with Bitdefender and 0x4A crashes I would suggest to remove Bitdefender and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials.
Uninstall Bitdefender

Hi axe0
Thanks so much for the reply and diagnosis . Bitdefender has been ok for a while but it could be the cause as you state .

I had a look at the dump file with Blue screen view from Nirsoft and it highlighted in red Intel usb 3.0 extensible host controller driver ! As the crash cause , but those drivers have been fine for over a year and haven't been touched , as I restore from true image frequently without issue .. I wonder why it flagged those ? All usb work fine and device manager reports no problem.

I can restore a Backup before Bitdefender was ever installed , Nov 2015 and see if the BSOD continues .
Is Microsoft Security any good and doesn't have a configurable firewall ?
Thanks
Col

I'm not sure why the Intel USB driver is the cause according to Bluescreenview.

MSE is the AV for Windows 7 by Microsoft, garanteed stable and good enough as long as you at least follow basic rules for security.
I believe Windows 7 has a built-in firewall that you can enable which doesn't require configuration unless there are some specific requirements.

You seem fairly convinced its Bitdefender so will roll back before it . I haven't ruled out RAm though as it also points to ntoskrnl.exe

Where did you see the Bitdefender error ? Thanks .

I marked the Bitdefender service in red in my first reply in this thread ;)
What I posted is part of the output of the dump which I've seen likewise with 0x4A's in the past.

Ntoskrnl.exe is a system file of the Windows kernel, you can assume it is not the cause because it is in many ways by the system protected and you should have a high number of serious problems (much more than just BSOD's) to get a bit close to the ntoskrnl.exe as being a probable cause.
Ntoskrnl.exe is marked as the cause because it is the last active, there must be a probable cause and when there is nothing for it the ntoskrnl.exe is the only one that can be pointed to.

Yeah my Gskill hasn't missed a beat since I had it, so I don't think its the cause either , I do trust your judgement .. just inquisitive . :) . Will roll back to before Bitdefender which I never much liked anyway.

For some weird reason , when I revert to an older Acronis backup , I get the " windows has recovered " message when it boots , it must hold it in memory or something ... as its the same message from the crash !

The system shuts off for a few moments before it boots what makes the memory doesn't have power while the system is off.
The memory is volatile what means that it looses all data it holds as soon as it looses power, the opposite counts for the hard drive (non-volatile, keep data when there is no power)

The problem lays not within the memory, but Acronis.

Probably not ... and I have reverted to a backup before bitdefender . Will see how it goes without ..
I cant really understand how its so popular , its been a pain in the **** in one way or another since I installed it.
