BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL during install

Hello. I'm trying to install the newest build on an old laptop that currently runs XP. I try booting from the DVD, and after it gets to the point where the little green progress bar animation plays on the bottom of the screen, I instantly get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bsod.

Other cases I've found of this bsod seem to be related to peripheral drivers, but it's a laptop, so there are none (per se).

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Having same problem with my desktop. Tried x86 and X64. Every other MS OS I have tried work flawlessly, both Vista and XP, 32 and 64bit.

With this I get the same BSOD every time. I have tried without soundcard, with two different graphics card, Nvidia and Matrox. Tried with only 1GB RAM, but with same result: BSOD. Dunno what else to try really :(

Any advice how to try to figure out what that code after the technical information means?

Yes, I could have done that, but I thought these might be related.

Anyway I solved my problem. I changed few options from my computers BIOS from Enabled to Disabled

Advanced BIOS features:
C1E
Execute Disable Bit
Virtualization Technology
EIST Function

Jorge, try to look if you have similar features

I have the same problem.

I have the same problem, with Windows 7 RC and also with a newer build (7600).
After booting the Windows 7 DVD and loading files, when the logo appears I get the BSOD.
My configuration is Asrock ALiveNF7G-GLAN motherboard, Athlon 64 X2 4200+, 2 GB of memory, Nvidia GeForce 7900GS, and 2 HDD (250GB SATA and 160GB ATA).
I tried all the options disabled and enabled in the BIOS, I pulled off 1GB of RAM, and I allways get BSOD with different messages.
On another computer, the installation went without any problem.

I had similar problem with an Asrock NF7G-SATA2 MB some few weeks ago. changed the memory complete and it was working. Used the old memory in an old Asus MB with Windows 7 as well and it worked.
Incompatibility of the memory used with some MB's!

But also try to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version.

I have been getting this BSOD for a while now, I have noticed it only happens when I play games (TF2, l4d2) I hope this is enough info to help someone pinpoint a fix for me.

First of all guys, check your RAM.
I have a same BSOD message, and i waste abot 5 hours to resolve this problem. Problem appered when i trying to instal new OS (windows 7/ xp) on my new hardeware, unfortunatelly it wasn't possible because i was still getting BSODs like:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT and little more, but i cannot rememerthem.
Finally i started to think that maybe something seriously is with my devices.
I had downloaded Ultimate Boot CD, burnt it on cd (on another pc). Then i went to the bios change boot priority, and run memory test (in mainboard tools section). Memory test shows in about 3% complete abot 80 000 errors, so my new DDR3 ram was just screwed up, and it was a reason of getting whole those errors.
