BSOD Locale ID 2057 - Black Screen/No Input

Hey everyone, was wondering if you could take a quick look at this for me. Starting a few months ago my computer would randomly black screen, followed by losing input to monitor and all sound dying. I would have to turn it if off manually via the power button, but then once turned back on, was fine again.

This gradually got more frequent.. it has now developed to a stage where sometimes you simply can not turn it off via the power button, and have to flip the manual switch at the back.

After this, it sometimes wont immediately turn back on! and the only solution ive found to this is to clear cmos via jumper/battery.

This all personally makes me think its a hardware issue, but before I start forking out £££ on a witch hunt (though I'm assuming mobo) I was wondering if you could check the dmp files for me. :)

sometimes on reboot after one of these episodes (as it tends to go quiet for a week or so after a cmos clear!) I get the "windows has recovered from an unexpected error" detailing a BSOD with the Locale ID 2057? I'll try and grab a printscreen of that if it happens again anytime soon. but for now ive just attached the SF_diagnostic file.

thanks again! Sam.

No expert Samuel but first stop your PSU mate - check to see if the power is flowing - it ain't going to work with no power:)

check to see if the power if flowing? I'm not quite sure what you mean sorry. The computer boots and runs normally 90% of the time, so I'm assuming it is getting power.

The PSU is a "Corsair CX500w"

do you mean like checking connections using a multimeter?

Yes Samuel take a look at this tutorial. Now it goes before saying unless you are fully aware of the dangers with these devices do not take the thing apart!

PSU's are a very common source of failure more than you would suspect, and in inexplicable cases as you have got would be my first port of call. Because no power or interrupted power and nothing is going to work properly if at all.

Thank you for the assistance so far :) Unfortunately the link you've provided I don't have access too, is there any sort of mirror link?
