I have recently started having BSODs with Memory_Management error on a 6 month old Win 7 64 bit system. I've done restores and it made no difference. The computer randomly crashes by itself. What can I do? I could join the .dmp file if someone tells me how to do this because my system refuses to let me do so.

Thanks.

We really need the actual DMP file.

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Start your own thread in the "Crashes and Debugging" section of the forum and attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

To test your memory

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Let us know if you need help with this

Here's a Memtest screen shot.

I don't know much about this program, but it doesn't look good. When it booted the computer, it immediately became red like this, then eventually the program halted.

Should I start a new thread, or is this OK?

I guess this is fine. What you really need to do is to pull all the memory but one stick and test it, and repeat for all the others.

Feel free to PM me if you need help

Thanks !!!!

It worked. Computer has two 2GB chips. I removed one and got 100% errors with Memtest, then I replaced it with the other one and got 0 error. It's now running fine on one 2GB chip (keeping fingers crossed...) and I'll be returning the faulty chip to my dealer for replacement.

Thanks for your help.
