Perfmon reports that your Norton Internet Security is having problems. Please do the following:
Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free antivirus for testing purposes: Free AntiVirus
- uninstall the Norton from your system (you can reinstall it, if so desired, when we're done troubleshooting)
- remove any remnants of Norton using this free tool: http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN
- IMMEDIATELY install and update the free antivirus, then check to ensure that the Windows Firewall is turned on.
- check to see if this fixes the BSOD's
NOTE: NEVER run more than 1 anti-virus, firewall, Internet Security/Security Center application at the same time.

If that doesn't fix things, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Special Pool", "Force Pending I/O Requests" and "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line:
Code:
Delete these registry keys to stop Driver Verifier from loading (works in XP, Vista, Win7):
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDrivers
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDriverLevel

Have you run Driver Verifier as I asked?
If not, please do so immediately

I suspect that there is malware involved here. Please try these free tests. If they find malware, you will need to consult one of the Security team for assistance in removing the infection (the tests that I use don't remove everything).
please run several of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Free Online AntiMalware Resources (read the details at the link)

No, that's what Driver Verifier does.
Now please do this:

1. Make sure you get all the information from the next BSOD (write it down directly from the Blue Screen). This is necessary in case the system didn't capture the memory dumps. Here's a link on what we need (the 3 things in RED): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v56/usasma/Computer/BSOD.jpg

2. Zip up and upload the contents of the C:\Windows\Minidump directory with your next post.

3. Turn Driver Verifier off

Did you install the new 11.12 amd video card drivers? If so that is probably the issue. I did so also in december and started getting this error which I had never had before. If you go into the Computer Manager and take a look at Event Viewer > Custom Views > Administrative Events look at Source SideBySide errors which will probably look like this:

'Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\ATI\CIM\Bin64\SetACL64.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.'

If so then that is also a very good candidate that you need to downgrade to 11.11 or upgrade to 12.1 preview.

Go into the control panel > Uninstall a program

In the new window double click AMD Catalyst Install Manager > Select Uninstall Manager > Custom

From there select these components to uninstall:
ATI Display Driver
AMD VISION ENGINE Controller

Then continue using the wizard to uninstall those things. This should then allow you to use the 11.11 install.
