BSOD ntoskrnl.exe+ ed0eb, tcpip.sys+6509b

Hey guys, first time posting so here goes.

To give the short version, 2 days ago I installed my new FX-8350 CPU, M5A97 evo R2.0 motherboard, a WD Blue 1tb hard drive and 8GB of hyperx ram (I've listed my full specs on my profile). Nothing is OC'd. I also did a fresh install of Windows 7 right afterwards. For the most part everything has been running smoothly, but today I ran into problems: first, I experienced multiple crashes while playing GTAV, 3 in total. My screen(s) went black for one or two seconds, then came back telling me GTAV.exe had crashed. As far as I can see the most likely thing making this happen is a GPU driver crash, although I didn't get a message telling me so. All the while I was monitoring my temps on a second monitor and they were fine (CPU socket at around 55, core around 30c away from the throttle limit measured with AMD Overdrive, GPU at 55c).

After the third crash I was about to try two possible simple fixes - changing to windowed and disabling my Avast - when I got the BSOD. The reason I mention the whole GTA thing is because I'm not sure if they're linked in any way. When my I got the BSOD I had already disabled my Avast, but I hadn't launched the game again yet. As far as I can remember the only programs running were Skype, Steam, HWmonitor and AMD Overdrive. I restarted my PC, downloaded BlueScreenView which found the two problematic processes mentioned in the title.

Unfortunately, I am completely clueless when it comes to minidumps, reading them and finding the causes of a BSOD, which is why I'm posting here and would be very grateful for any help. I'm not sure if one or two of this forums veterans will raise an eyebrow at me making a thread after a single BSOD but since I just installed new hardware I'm a little paranoid and I'd like to fix any issues sooner rather than later, not to mention find out if one of my new components is faulty.

Hello Karn, welcome to the forums. I will try to help you if I can. where did you get the Motherboard drivers from? I noticed you received several errors from Windows Update. Please make sure all of your recommended and important updates are installed. This is what your dump file says.

That is from a Windows update. Please go to your Motherboard's web site (Motherboards | M5A97 EVO R2.0 | ASUS Global) and see if you can update your Ethernet driver. If you installed the drivers from the DVD, please update all of your drivers.

Which I am sure you know is your graphics driver. Please reinstall the Graphics driver using this method.

Also, please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Let me know the results of all of that and see if it makes the problem better.

I did in fact get the motherboard drivers from a disc which came with the motherboard. I updated all of those (including ethernet) save the ones which would have required me to flash the BIOS - I'd prefer to avoid that unless I really really need to do it.

Other than that I installed all Windows updates including the Thai language pack which I accidently checked (I know how to remove it but I might keep it there for a while, you never know when you'll need to set your language to Thai right?), did a clean nvidia driver install following the instructions in the thread you linked and ran the sfc /scannow command which came up clean. (Windows Resource Protection did not find any inegrity violations.) Didn't run into any problems while doing this although I haven't been doing anything more taxing than browsing the web till now.

You're more than welcome. I hope your problem is resolved, but if not, we're open 24/7. As far as the BIOS Updates, look at their notes and see what changes it makes. If there are changes that would benefit you, flash it. Bios Flashing is not as dangerous as it used to be. Just make sure your computer is stable.
