My install of Windows 7 Ultimate on a separate Boot Camp works until I try to install the Apple Boot Camp 4 Support Software. After I do so the system gives me BSOD on restart. I've tried the following suggestions from other threads:

- Renaming/removing AppleHSF.sys and AppleMNT.sys
- Removing BootCamp.exe from msconfig.exe

I've attached the error dumps associated with the BSOD, as well as a screen shot of the BSOD screen.

Windbg suggests that wininit.exe is likely causing the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What mac are you using?

I have a 2006 MacBook Pro core 2 duo which works OK with windows 8.1 x64 with bootcamp 4 - the only issue I have is event monitor saying the hardware is not supported which is obviously rubbish.

wininit.exe is not the problem - it just submits things. Your problem is drivers.

Thanks for the reply, I'm using a late 2008 MacBook Pro 15". It's got 8GB RAM and a 750GB hard drive.
