I've been having problems starting my computer.

I've run the Windows Memory Diagnostics resulting with no problems.
I get Dell error code of 2000-0142
In Safe Mode I've tried Start-up repair, but can't repair automatically
I've tried to restore from previous point with no success

OS version 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Hi Jimbo15,

It seems you are running a counterfeit installation.
Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless because it is not known what has been modified to your system.

Likely I made a huge mistake

I am not sure anymore, but I am extremely sorry about it :O

Back to the crashes, there are I/O errors. This means that the data can't be read from your hard drive.
Please test your hard drive

Not needed if SeaTools fails at the short test.
The short test is the test where hard drives usually passes, but the long test should then determine it.

Backup your data and replace the hard drive as soon as possible.

Thanks, not what I wanted to hear, but at least I know there's not much I can do. What causes this issue?
