Had a BSoD late yesterday.

All startups were disabled (except security programs) and services disabled.

I still had the blue tooth headset and the printer connected though, so they are now disabled.

I also noticed that Samsung Magician was still starting and could not find where to disable it from startup, so that is now uninstalled.

Please check in your BIOS the voltage, speed and latency of the memory and let me know what they are.
Please run a memtest and driver verifier afterwards.

Diagnostic Test

 RAM TEST

arrow.png
Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

   Note
picture.php

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

 DRIVER VERIFIER

   Warning
Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
Please create a restore point.

Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

I have memtest already. Is it just a matter of letting it run? Off to work now, so will do this tonight.

When you say 'when it (memtest) has finished' I assume you mean after it has done a minimum of 8 passes?

What are the XMP options? You need to revert back the overclocking.

In the BIOS you can see that XMP button at the top left.

All that has to be done is to select that and the XMP profile is enabled.

I don't know of any other options.

I did try a few weeks ago disabling XMP to eliminate that as being the cause of the BSoD. I still got crashes on default frequency and timings.

I will put them back to default before running memtest and leave it that way until cleared :).

TBH I didn't think it was an OC. I thought only going beyond the XMP settings was an OC. I learned something again.

Going beyond the XMP is going to the unstable route (if that is possible?), XMP is OC because the RAM goes beyond its designed capabilities but within the range of the tested capabilities.

No worries. I had thought that when purchasing RAM at a rated frequency, (1866 in my case), that once installed at default bios settings, the RAM actually got underclocked. In my case down to 1333 and you had to either manually adjust to the 1866, or use XMP profile.

Thanks again axe0. You can teach an old dog new tricks :D

8 passes, zero error on first stick. Now to test in other 3 slots, yes?

By placing them in each dimm I take it we are testing the slots?

You switch each module from slot, note the results per test and after all tests are done you check the result to find out what slot/module is the cause of the errors :)
