I recently downloaded Sims 3 in my PC and started playing it for a couple of minutes when the waves of BSOD started. The BSOD will only occur when I play Sims but not in any other activity.
The first BSOD was a BCCode:116 which I'm familiar because I got that error also a long time ago but it was fixed, and I know it is a GPU/Driver issue so I started to uninstall my NVIDIA driver and update it to the latest one(I used DDU in safe mode and uninstalled my driver then installed the latest driver). Now I tested if I will still get the 116 error and I started to play Sims but this time I tried it in the lowest settings windowed and also monitored my CPU and GPU temps. My CPU ranged in 68c - 76c and my GPU increased from 49c up to 77c. It just when up steadily 1c at a time and never went down. My Fan just ranged from 690 - 750 rpm while playing. When my GPU got to 77c, it then froze with the music still going on then stopping and that's where I got the d1 error.
I also cleaned my PC's insides but not that thorough.
While making this thread, I opened my PC case's side panel to see it would make my PC cooler and to see if it would help. It did not.
I feel that my PC is dying, it's 6 years old now. The Vid Card is not that old cos my Radeon that lasted for 3 1/2 years(2010 - 2013) before getting my first 116 error and was replaced by the Computer Tech with GeForce 430 that was my graphic up until now.
Sorry if my English is not that good, it's not my first language.
