Hello, I've been having an issue with my computer spontaneously restarting while playing certain games. I looked it up and found that windows automatically restarts when you BSOD so i turned off that function and now i get a BSOD and i grabbed this from my event logger:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xfffffa800d77d028, 0x00000000b6000000, 0x0000000000100153).

I'm including the BSOD data collection zip thingy that is provided on this forum.

I'm not sure if it matters but i have had this issue running only civ5 and vermintide but they could be unrelated to each other. In niether case is the game or system under any significant load.

You are running a Dell Product ID (PID) on a MSI board.
This makes your installation counterfeit.
Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.
Code:
OS Configuration: Standalone Workstation
OS Build Type: Multiprocessor Free
Registered Owner: Lorddread
Registered Organization:
Product ID: [COLOR="Red"]00426-OEM-8992662-00400[/COLOR]
Original Install Date: 12/13/2013, 3:54:49 PM
System Boot Time: 5/28/2016, 4:38:30 PM
System Manufacturer: MSI

I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.
If, after you have installed a genuine copy of Windows, you still get BSOD's we'll be happy to assist you.

It isn't counterfeit. Its just convoluted. I bought a prebuilt desktop from Acer and it ran like a pile of crap. I couldn't return it either. So i took the 2 TB harddrive from it and used it to build my current machine. I ran the OS of it for a while until i got the SSD then i reinstalled from the disk to it. Could that be causing my issues? I can get a copy of win 7 from my dad, he has an extra copy... he upgraded to win 8.

LordDread7 axe0 is off line now so I will try to explain things.

The Dell product key you are using will only legally work on the computer it was first installed on at the factory. They are called (OEM/SLP).
Your Acer Windows 7 key that came with your Acer pre-built OEM/SLP key can only be used on that Acer computer/motherboard.

What ever Windows 7 key your father was using to upgrade to Windows 8. Once again that key is no longer usable for other computers. It is tied to the upgrade.

Unless the Windows 7 keys are a Retail version, Windows 7 can't legally be moved from computer/motherboard to another computer/motherboard.
A Retail key can be moved but it can only be on one computer at a time.

Your specs show you have a custom made computer with a MSI retail motherboard and Ultimate installed.

You will need to purchase a new Windows 7 DVD with a matching COA key for your system to be able to legally be used and activated properly.

Here is a site that will explain the differences between Microsoft Windows 7 systems and activation and the rules that apply.

I hope this helps.
