BSOD problems on new pc

Hello and thank you for your time and for reading this.

I bought new PC about a week ago, and i keep getting BSOD on boot, after welcome screen. This happens 3-5 times and then it boots normally. After that i can use/play/surf do whatever i want without any problems. I tried basic stuff, gfx drivers, setting bios to default and such.

My system specs are:
M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
amd phenom ii x2 550 black edition
ATI HD5850 1gb ddr5
2x2GB GEIL black dragon mem
WD 500GB blue edition sata 2 HDD
LC power 550W pcu
OS WIN7 64bit

BSOD started as soon as the first boot. When i don't turn off PC for some time it's ok, but when i turn it off in the evenin and turn it on in the morning same BSOD pops out. Didn't OC anything.

I did 5 of the most recent BSOD's and the causes are all over the map. The causes include your video driver, memory, and others. Because of the varied causes I have to start thinking hardware.

I would first test the memoruy by downloading memtestx86, burn it to a cd, then run it for at least 5 passes.

Second, remove all traces of the current video driver, then downloas and instll a fresh copy

Finally- run a system file check to verify and repair your system files
(type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow)

Memtest showed no errors (used USB installation), removed drivers with driver sweeper installed ati 10.5 drivers and did system file check, all was ok. I let memtest do 5 passes, and let it go on 'till i get back from work but after 5 passes, no errors.
I had 1 more BSOD this morning, when i woke up. Attached.

Hate to say it but Pool_corruption, or memory. Did you test the sticks, one by one, and the mobo slots one by one?

Hello.

Didn't check them one by one on every slot, checked them both in pair in different dual channel slots (once in white and once in blue ones). I'll check them again when i come home from work today.

Ok, will enable that driver verifier.

The thing that is strange is that BSOD shows only on boot up, and if pc boots it works good even on most demanding stuff in HD and so.

Will write as soon as i try memory again and verify drivers as written above.

Hello.

I tried everything posted above and was about to post that when i accidentally came across an article about cold boot problems like i have. I followed the simple thing, turn on PC, go to BIOS, just sit and watch in BIOS for 5-10 mins then just exit and the PC booted. Tried the same trick for 5 days and it seems to work like that. Also tried to do memtest on a cold boot and it found 18000 memory errors Oo??? Did the same when PC was working for some time and no errors?? Both times i ran 8 passes. Thinking of taking the whole PC to shop where i bought it coz i cant quite put a finger on whats not working right. Dont have dumps this time, forgot them home but, same thing as ones above.

I suggest increasing your RAM voltage slightly in your BIOS. That helped one guy before.

I have exactly the same problem. BSOD after welcome screen when cold booting. Only when the pc has been turned off for some hours.

Then, after resetting the pc by holding the power button, everything works perfectly. Can play games and run stress tests without a hickup.

BSOD causes are all over the place, indicated keyboard and GPU problems, so I replaced them, but to no avail.

I have posted this problem on several forums, and contacted Gigabyte, XFX and Corsair tech support. Only advice they could give was increasing the mem + mem controller voltage, but it didn't work for me.

You could try though, maybe it helps.

First - im never taking my PC to so called "PC techs". I took it 2 days in a row and got - all's well from them and still got BSOD-s.... First thing i saw is that they put my gfx in a diferent slot (took out asus switch card and put it in that slot - making it work on 8x PCIe instead 16x that card is supposed to work on.). next thing i saw is that a smartass put 2x 2gb ram-s in single channel mode and OC-ed them to 1,65V. I got random - ...has stopped working. Usually on games...
I put back everything back in place, stopped getting random errors. Just plain ol' BSOD-s on cold boots.
Im begining to suspect power supply unit, coz this morning i made an experiment. Pulled out HD 5850 and turned on integrated gfx 4290 or something. No BSOD. Ordered 750w Chieftec modular PCU. Will write if something changes - tho supplyer said it might be few days till i get PCU. Till tehn ill try getting as much cold boots as possible - but i just think it might do the trick. Will post if it helps.

Hi,
got another 2x2 gb ddr3-s and same thing. Same thing even with integrated gfx so i put HD 5850 back.
I adjusted voltage to 1.6v and cas manually according to spec.
Don't know what to do anymore - only thing left is to replace is CPU and motherboard...
