BSOD - Random 0x0A, 0x1A

Hi,
i have been getting BSOD lately and not sure what has caused them
normally i can google it and work out the problem but havent been able to fix this
so thinking it could be hardware as i cant recall installing anything lately (not saying i havent though)

i also received a 0x7E? i think

also i was having an issue where it wasnt saving the dmp files so had to change the directory for it to work

ok guys added my system specs (i thought that program that i used to get the BSOD dumps got a copy of that stuff)

already ran a virus scan and malwarebytes
done sfc scan got a few errors but doesnt look like anything can i post the log?
done a memtest and received some bad results..

Well Bert there is a part of the problem if not it all! Now you have to find which stick or sticks are putting up the errors and mate there is no easy way of doing that than testing each one separately - sorry. If they all test ok then you will need to test the sticks in the different slots as that may be the problem too.

flat out atm so just keep running them with the BSOD until after xmas
i cant believe the price of ram now! its twice the price for the same sticks as i have!

I am currently using G Skill and I think if you have a yarn to Tradesman in here Welcome to the G.SKILL TECH FORUM he will be able to advise you on a suitable set up for your machine like he did for my builds. I see from the listings a lot of stuff that even though a higher clock speed would still run on your board if it only supports the 1600MHz stuff.
I was also thinking to get you out of strife maybe 8GB would at least give you a bit of leeway.

yeah i purchased all my pc gear from there
the ram was only $89 when i bought it in jan this year!

it can support alot faster ram i just got that as it was good value for money at the time thinking i could get faster stuff cheaper later on but looks as ram prices doubled!

well pretty sure i have 1 dud stick of ram
other stick got no errors at 7 passes
this 1 got heaps,
tried in different slots and same thing

Well mate there is no way around this but to test each stick in a slot oneat a time. The good news is that at least the errors came up at pass - zero soit should do the same thing with the faulty stick.

I would personally try one pass with each stick and if the errors come upright away you will have the thing pinned down. Now that doesn't mean of courseit is limited to one stick and even maybe the slot as I have a mate on the forum in the US who has had nothing but problems with AsRock too

And they are just the ducks guts but I agree they have shot up in price although I bought these for that price back in October. That fellow I linked to is real good at advising re RAM and he might be able to come up with some suggestions too.

yeah have tested the faulty stick in each slot and errors up in no time
the good stick didnt get an error in 2 of the slots (the 2 i use) so going to call it good
will see if they want both sticks back or just 1

Good stuff Bert yes mate test each one and get them replaced - the only way. If you are going to get them replaced I would be insisting on a set of sticks that is if you need 4 x 4GB then it is far safer to get the four sticks in a set because they have probably come of the same manufacturing batch as do 2 x 4GB / 8GB sticks. One always takes a chance with a random pick.

For example if you upgrade a 2x 4GB set up with 1 x 4GB (to make 12GB) stick of the same model it may just be that slightly different in performance

AS you can see they are exactly the same but in sets and are clockable to 2133MHz but again that G Skill forum fellow is the one to ask about what you need - not casting aspersions on members inhere but for that stuff he is good. Plus they are not as expensive as the ones you bought.
Now personally I don't think unless you are some mad over clock fanatic that over clocking the RAM does that much for you. mine is OC at 2400MHz and to be honest I would even know

im running 16gb of ram atm as i use a virtual pc, coreldraw and corel paintshop pro

dont know if i need 16gb of ram but rather have too much than not enough
and at that point in time it cheap enough to buy 16gb
is faster ram or more ram better?

Well I suppose it is much of a muchness really I suppose if you were playing fast games then faster RAM but as you are doing graphic stuff then I suppose more RAM is better and I stand to be corrected but the speed really is a bit of a misnomer to me because for what I use on the machines the speed of the ram does not seem to make all that much difference.

Personally I would go the more RAM if I were doing what you do but that is only because I don't see how much difference there is between the 2400MHz on the main machine and the 1333MHz I ma using right now on the laptop.
