BSOD: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error]

I have a Raid1 set-up, and I think one of the drives went bad. I disconnected the bad one and am now having trouble getting Windows to start. Here is the error code I'm getting:

When I try a normal startup, I get the following BSOD:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The verification of a knownDLL failed. system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000012f (0x00143ae0 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.

How can I repair this error without a clean re-install?

ETA: When trying to boot into safe mode, the last driver that is listed before going to BSOD is classpnp.sys.

I am not able to boot into windows at all. I get the BSOD during a normal boot, a safe mode boot, and a command prompt boot. Is there a way for me to create a dump file without being able to boot into windows? I can pull up the safe mode menu, but any selection I make has the same results.

Not really, and do you know of any overheating issues? I've seen this bugcheck be caused a few times by overheating.

No, I'm not aware of any overheating. My system is not over clocked. Also, this problem persists even after letting the computer sit turned off overnight. I need to find my installation DVD to try to do a repair install.

That might be a good idea, something is most likely seriously corrupted. What are your general browsing habits and security? I'm wondering if you may have had some form of infection?

Mostly banking and reputable websites (ESPN, Netflix). I use Avast for my virus software. My guess is that when one of the raid drives failed it must have corrupted a driver. If doing a repair install doesn't work, might I be able to upgrade to Win8 without losing my data?

I was able to use the windows 7 install dvd to get to the command prompt. I set a kernel dump file to be created, however I can not run the sf_diagnostic_tool.exe from the command prompt. Is there a dump file I can copy using the command prompt to be able to upload here? I did find a ntbtlog.txt file. I'm not sure if there's anything in there that will help you find my problem.

I wouldn't personally upgrade to Windows 8 (soon to be Windows 8.1), you could copy the dump files over if they have been created by going to this directory:

C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP

Then copy that file over to a USB stick or external hard drive, and then place into a zipped folder. Upload the zipped folder to a file sharing site such as Dropbox or Skydrive, and make sure you upload the file to the Public folder of either your Skydrive or Dropbox account. Post the URL to the file in your next post.

You'll have to use a file sharing site with Kernel Memory dumps due to the size limitations of the forum.

What RAID configuration were you using? You could try booting with http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ate-live-cd-dvd-usb-use-emergency-backup.html and then backup your data and then gather the dump files manually.

With regards to the log file, there are some drivers which weren't loaded such as the Intel Rapid Storage Driver (used for RAID), however, I'm not sure when this log file would have been created.

Thanks for all of your help so far. I am using a Raid1 configuration. The log file that I uploaded last night was created on 10/20, so it was after I started having problems. The memory.dmp file that I found was dated in March, so I'm guessing it's not going to help. I've booted into Peppermint, and am in the process of copying my hard drive to another one that I connected by USB. It has 12 hours left. After it's finished copying, I think I'm going to try to update to Windows 8.

If that log file was created in Safe Mode, then it would explain why some drivers weren't loaded. If it's not in Safe Mode, then the RAID 1 configuration may have failed, as a result Intel Rapid Storage driver not being loaded for some reason.

Why don't you image the hard-drive, and then place the image on a separate hard-drive? It will cause less problems than using RAID.
