BSOD Upon Hibernate (0x0000009f)

Hi,

I have been facing BSOD upon hibernate from quite a while. Very rarely hibernate does works but most of the time whenever I try to hibernate it would take ages & then BSOD pops.

This windows install is counterfeit the product ID matches an HP while the computer it's self is a Lenovo. Please purchase a legal copy of windows, format your drive and re-install with the new legal copy of windows.

But this was a pre-installed OS which came up with the purchase from a local PC shop.

Then they ripped you off, the operating system is not legally installed, chances are a hackers exploit was used to install it, you may want to see if you can get your money back, if not then I'm not sure what to tell you.

I'll have to contact them for the issue. But how can I make sure that if I got a legal copy & the ID does matches?

if you purchase a legal copy it will be a retail disk/download (most likely), unless you purchase an OEM system builder disc the system builder key is cheaper but can only be installed on one machine, a retail key can be installed on this PC your next PC so on and so fourth. Both of those should come with a sticker on the box that they come in with a key that you will put in either during or after installation which should then validate its self once you are connected to the internet. if you have any questions or problems with activation we have a whole section of the forum that is very helpful with such things.
