Hi,

Recently my computer has been having regular blue screens. On average, this is happening once a week, and as you can imagine is very annoying. This always seems to happen when logging out of an account. Another problem I have, which I think could be related, is that the computer doesn’t shut down (e.g.: stays on the ‘shutting down’ screen). This again happens on average once a week. Both of these problems started about a few weeks ago, and, as far as I can remember, no new programs were installed before this.

I am running a fully updated copy of Windows 7 Professional 64bit. Attached is the zip folder with material regarding the blue screens (I followed the guide on your website: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html)

Many thanks for your help. :D

Thanks for your prompt response! :D

I'm sorry if I am missing something, but I have just run the program again, following the instructions, and have attached the new zip folder to this post. However, there seems to be less files in the folder this time instead of more!

Hope that I have the correct information this time. Thanks again.

Yeah there are less files in that one. Give it a third run mate, it'll pick it up eventually.

Hi again!

This time looks much more promising! Many more files are included in the folder which I have attached.

Thanks again.

Right, all of your dumps are 0x50 which is a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Before we start looking at drivers I'd like you to run a couple diagnostic tests please.
Code:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)
Invalid system memory was referenced. This cannot be protected by try-except,
it must be protected by a Probe. Typically the address is just plain bad or it
is pointing at freed memory.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffff900c00cb050, memory referenced.
Arg2: 0000000000000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation.
Arg3: fffff9600024283c, If non-zero, the instruction address which referenced the bad memory
    address.
Arg4: 0000000000000000, (reserved)

Run MemTest86+ for at least 8 passes. Ideally set it off before you go to bed and leave it overnight, we're looking for zero errors here. A single error will show something's going bad with your RAM.

:ar: Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/313457-seatools-dos-windows-how-use.html

:ar: Run chkdsk. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html

Post back with the results and we'll go from there.

Hi there,

I have now done all of the tests you posted before. All appeared to come up clear apart from chkdsk which said 'it had made corrections to the file system'. I have attached the full log of chkdsk to this post along with screenshots of the other completed test.

Look forward to your reply. :D

OK all's looking good, only MemTest86+ is showing as only running 6 passes in your document? You really need to run 8 passes for it to be reliably conclusive.

Hi there,

I ran out of time yesterday, hence it only completed 6 passes. Sorry about that, I plan retest the memory with 8 passes very soon!

Thanks.

Hi there,

I'm afraid that I have been very busy at the moment, and will now be unavailable until September: will continue troubleshooting this then.
