BSOD when viewing some Media folders

As the title say i had this problem for a year now or more but it only appears when i open Media folders (specially if its a big folder or has big size images files, as in if its an image in KB size it won't freeze but if a folder contains multiple 5+MB images, it will most likely freeze).

When i open the folder and thumbnail starts getting created and the green loading bar up top is moving it slows down halfway and then everything get like a 100 times slower and windows freezes with maybe only mouse is working after awhile.

anyway when i open some of those folder windows suddenly gets extremely slow i can't even close the explorer or open TaskManager or anything for that matter, it would stay like this for awhile and eventually gives a BSOD or restarts immediately.

and i couldn't really pinpoint a certain folder maybe containing corrupt files, cuz it happens in different folders, and and i have hundreds of albums folders containing images and videos. and it would take a huge time searching by trial and error specially that i will have to restart windows whenever it freezes.
and i always had those pictures and they always worked, I don't think tons of random pictures in random folders all over the place suddenly got corrupted at the same time.

i have been trying to fix this forever searching for people with similar problems but i was never able to. eventually i decided seeking help here, Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome Ezz mate please follow this
SYSTEM SPECS

Now before we can help we do need to know what is in your machine so please do this
System Info - See Your System Specs

or either enter the specs of your system in your forum profile the specs will appear when we click on that little box bottom left of the post screen it is for me the preferable option as it is easy. As you may appreciate it is very hard when you don’t know what one is working with for example a diesel or petrol engine.

(pretyped to save time)

Now for starters please run these

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html< if necessary include the /f switch and if this does not makeany improvement then just run this switch instead /r in the commandline as per Option2

Runthese in safe mode and the sfc often best run for two to three runs –you can leave out the /r switch in ckdsk if you feel it not necessary

ifno fix then these

(NBIf you are running Kaspersky as the main AV then it might needdisabling it when trying ADW because it does not like it at times)

Cannot do anything much more until we have the spec's my friend.

The first problem that appears to me is a counterfeit installation.

You have a HP computer using a Lenovo COA key.

From your log.

I looked into the dmp files

It looks like that gzflt.sys and ntoskrnl.exe (Short for Windows NT operating system kernel,) is causing the bsod. Looking online gzflt.sys is related Bitdefender so try disabling Bitdefender from starting up first and see what happens

Yep that is all well and good Flume mate but if the copy is not genuine then as Jack pointed out then there is still going to be problems if not now then down the track because Microsoft will eventually cotton on to that fact. You just cannot use a key from one maker on another makers board.

Also if you check out the ntoskrnl.exe dump file you will find it is linked in to a Windows update and it is very very common and as you found the problem really is the Bitdefender. With the ntoskrnl.exe you have to do a very thorough search for other problem areas it is pointless quoting it as a issue - it is but it then breaks down into sub issues that you have to go looking for.

But that is OT and what Jack has said will need to be addressed before the machine is or can be fixed which is in all probability have to be a clean install with a new key or OEM.

oh got my reply disappeared and i have to retype :'D

1: sfc-scannow gave no integrity problems

2: chkdsk C: /F /R gave no problems but when i checked D: it found files and fixed them, but it was SO SLOW, it took 10 hours to reach 20% 7k+ files out of 270k files!

3- i tried some of these softwares to scam (before) found no problem, i will try again i guess but when im down with chkdsk, cuz had to cancel it today, but i will keep doing it one the laptop is free
windows, im not really sure, my HDD got fried or something and was not useable so i bought a new one and i lost the windows recovery image with it (the laptop is like 10 years old anyway..) so i bought a new 1 TB HDD and had windows installed at the shop there, but in Egypt i think almost all softwares are pirated gives how costly they get windows start from 400 EGP for example. But my windows was working fine so i didn't give it much attention really.. when i bought the new hdd and got my laptop back
bitDefender, i actually only recently started using it, i was on avast free few weeks ago and the problem was still there. i even tried no antiviruses at all and it didn't go away still

so, could the chkdsk on D: (partition with pictures in it) be the problem? it said something like fixing clusters or so, i don't remember. and it was either JPEG Or AVI files.. so im thinking that could fix the problem, can it? O.o

Okay folks; I suggest reading the forum rules.

Windows 7 Help Forums - Forum Rules

4) No piracy or discussion of piracy allowed at all. Such as software, music, videos and other intellectual property violations (e.g. downloading youtube videos locally etc).
Until a legal Windows 7 is installed we will be unable to help.

It would be a waste of time to try to fix a system that is illegal.

The first step to troubleshoot this computer is to install a legal Windows 7 with a proper matching COA key. Then if their is still problems we will be happy to give guidance.

Jack

i don't know if its illegal or not, I don't even know how to check that. my laptop came with windows 7 anyway. it was lost with the faulted HDD and i got a new one with the new HDD. maybe that's the difference in that COA key (not even sure whats that? :'D)

I have all windows features enabled, system update and everything, wouldn't that catch it if its illegal?
it was always enabled automatically and all updated done.

Just so you won't go into the wrong direction, Bitdefender is not the cause.
However, because of the activation issue, I can't provide anymore information.

Ok well until the copy issue is resolved then I guess we have to leave it as is - it is not that we do not want to help just that we cannot because of not just the legalities but because it looks to have a fair bit of corruption floating around in the machine too.
