I have had 2 BSOD today while watching a tv show online. I have no clue what could be the problem seeing as i haven't installed any new hardware or installed any software lately.

When checking in the mindump folder i can find two reports but they dont have the right creation time. The first one is almost a year old and the other one about 3 months. So i dont know if it will help posting those because it probably doesnt have anything to do with the bsod i am having right now.

Edit: I tried running the SF_Diagnostic_Tool but when i press grab all it gives me a error saying a "unhandled exception has occurred in your application".

Well i just had my third bsod when watching a video and still no dump file. I did manage to make a photo of the bsod so i can write down the code it is giving me.

0x000000F4 (0x00000000003, 0xFFFFFA800A0B130,0XFFFFFA800AB1E10,0XFFFFF8000398F510)

i also noticed that there isnt a lot of space left on my system drive (only 5gb) can that be the cause of the problem ?

Disable your antivirus fro a few minutes, and execute the SF Diag tool. Some antiviruses like Avast flags it.

Dont forget to run the tool as Admin.

OK, then collect the other files, and get the minidumps from C:\Windows\Minidump and then upload those.

Ok here is everything i could get. For some reason one of the minidump files wouldn't let me copy it, it kept telling me i didn't have admin, but the other dump file didnt give any problem.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Just making sure, the minidump that was included in that file i uploaded shows a creation date from about a year ago. You sure that has anything to do with the bsod i am having today? As far as i can tell there arent being any minidump files created for the bsod i am having today.

Without analyzing a minidump, nothing can be done for a stop 0xF4.

Ok, with the driver verifier a mini dump has been created.

I also read something about a faulty driver in the BSOD. So i am hoping its just a driver that is being a pain in the ass and not a hardware issues. But i hope you guys can tell me after checking the dump file :D

It is Daemon Tools. Uninstall Daemon Tools and forget the BSODs.

Gigabyte mothermoard utility sogtware. All are harmful junks, no need to be installed anymore. Uninstall them, one by one.

  • Auto Green
  • Energy Saver
  • Easy Tune (first run it, set to default, then uninstall) .... all
Also, uninstall McAfee, replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows.

Let us know the results, OK? :)

Still getting BSOD at start up when using driver verifier. here is the new crash dump.

I am just wondering, could it be that all these corrupted driver/programs can be the result of a other problem? Because it doesn't make sense to me that without doing anything special to my pc all of these program that have been running fine start acting up. Although perhaps they were always broken and they just show up now because of the driver verifier starting up programs i never really used, but still it is a possibility that something else might be wrong.

Anyway, please let me know what the problem is now.

Some extra info that i haven't mentioned before that might be important. After every BSOD the PC start up 2-3x times with a disk boot failure and i have to push the reset button to reboot and only after that asks me in which mode i want to start windows(safe, normal, etc.)

I am also running windows on a separate SSD(Crucial m4 64gb).

At this point, you should disable driver verifier, and see if it works smoothly or not. Hopefully it will work smoothly after freeing up the startup.

Free up the startup.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Now run the computer normally. It should not crash anymore. But if it still does, I have framed a bit idea what to do there.
