Hello and welcome Patrick now mate I cannot see much in the dump files to be honest but there again I am no real expert.

Now just out of interest are you running any software programs such as driver finders or clean up utilities etc etc? Have you recently changed any hardware? Are all drivers up to date? because in msinfo32 there is a problem device - the Ethernet driver is not installed whether that has anything to do with your problem is debatable, but if you use a cable connection then it might interfere with your connections..

I see from your profile that you are running AVG and not being a great fan of this security suite I would suggest either disabling or uninstalling it - preferably the latter - because again I don't consider it any good at all and you could use a free security such as MSE, plus often AV's can cause issues within the system.

Have you tried changing the power settings back to something else yet?
If you haven't already I would suggest you run these first up
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2 (if you are going to use the /r switch there is no need for the /f switch)
Run these in safe mode and the sfc often best run for two to three runs – you can leave out the /r switch in ckdsk if you feel it not necessary

if no fix then these

SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!
Malwarebytes | Malwarebytes Premium
AdwCleaner Download
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If you are running Kaspersky as the main AV then it might need disabling it when trying ADW because it does not like it at times)

Hello and thank you for the quick response!

I haven't changed any of my hardware, but I did put in a usb hub that I believe might be a problem, even though I got it a while ago. Every now and then, something disconnects and a few seconds later reconnects. I know this by the sound of a usb being unplugged and plugged. I have actually had problems with the usb hub while back but I restored my computer and the problem seem to go away. I even downloaded a usb logger to help track it down but it's hard to tell where it is coming from.

Also, I use a wireless adapter for my internet. So the Ethernet driver is not needed. But could that be causing the issue? This only started happening recently. I changed the cables and ports (using DP and HDMI instead of DVI) I used on my graphics card, and after that, things got a little weird with my computer.

I don't really know where this is coming from. I have been using AVG for a while now, or atleast before this all started happening so I don't want to believe that is the case.

I will try the other options that you mentioned and see if that leads to anything.

Thank you,
Patrick

Ok Patrick now the Ethernet driver for what it is worth I would personally update /install it it costs nothing and look stranger things happen at sea eh? ASRock > Z77 Extreme4

Again for what it is worth updating other drivers can do no harm like the chipset and USB drivers. Now having said that I see there are two USB manufacturers for that board and it is a matter of finding out whether it is the Intel one or the Asmedia one and it may even cure the connect disconnect noise issue with the machine. You can usually tell from the Control Panel > Programs and Feature which it is if it doesn't state it there I can link a ditty I wrote for using HW Info - it will show it up in great detail.

Now the DVI as opposed to the HDMI did you really need audio via that connection because the DVI should be as good for graphics and if going back to the DVI fixes anything then stay with it.

The AVG mate just disabling it for a while should suffice as to whether it is playing around with the system it is not unusual for any AV to cause issues and as I said stranger things happen at sea. For an example a while ago I had my USB ports on my main desktop suddenly drop out for no apparent reason and try as I may could not get them back. The problem was seen by another member who had seen this before and the problem was the Samsung Magician software for the SSD in the machine. So a quick uninstall of that and back came the ports. I wouldn't have picked it in a month of Sundays so what looks innocuous enough sometimes can be an issue.

The hub well it could be a problem is it a powered one or powered from the machine? Plus is there any software / driver that is required for it?
