BSOD While burning a disk (assuming it wasnt the cause however)

As the subject states l was burning a disk and for some reason just before it finished (annoyingly) l had a BSOD..

now this isnt the first time l have experienced BSODs from the laptop, however the last ones l posted for help with were related to my video card which l updated the drivers of and it has been quite a while since l received my last BSOD until today, but unlike the last time there wasnt a mention of anything related to my graphics.. and what usually caused it before was when l viewed things like youtube.


l have run the DM Logging tool and have attached it to this thread, hopefully it will help provide an answer as to why l have had another BSOD.


l will however note something l have noticed between two different sets of hardware and windows 7 installations.. lve been getting random explorer crashes on both my PC and laptop (my PC doesnt bother me as much because l guess my 32GB of ram means explorer starts up quite quickly, but my laptop isnt so pokey when it happens with its 4GB), but l have been told by a few of my friends who have said the same thing happens to them over the past year or so since support is starting to taper off from Win7 as an OS, while l dont think its related to the problem l just thought it was worth mentioning seeing as l did get an explorer crash before and after the BSOD.

as always, appreciate all the advice and help members here have provided past in past and present topics.

Hello again mate now there is no BSOD dump sin the link and msinfo shows no problems devices so can you retry sending the BSOD stuff - if you are using CCleaner or Disk cleanup the dumps might have been lost so don't use either after the next BSOD.

thats strange, because l never ran it until after l received the BSOD.. unlike the previous ones l had (the last time l submitted a thread regarding one) there was no files mentioning any specific file, but what l do remember is the BSOD said something along the lines of something was looping in a way that it would never finish..

on an unrelated note tho, wish every time l came here wasnt because l had a problem lol..

Ok look coming her with problems is what it is all about - had quite few myself lately.

Will have a look through what there is but not promising anything because there is stuff in those other reports I don't fully understand.

it it helps, the file was created on the day of the BSOD ld say within an hour or two of it happening.

Ok well don't know what happened there and I have read through those files that make some sort of sense to me and your original post.
Now it seems to me the common thread between the machines is Windows Explorer (and by the by what is the laptop model) and not wanting to sound overly simplistic I would be running these because some searches have come up with Explorer stuff being corrupted either from within or via the net.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Disk Check < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2
NB Some say SFC best run for about three runs
SUPERAntiSpyware | Remove Malware | Remove Spyware - AntiMalware, AntiSpyware, AntiAdware!
Malwarebytes | Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium
AdwCleaner Download
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If one is running Kaspersky security it may rant about ADW - just ignore it or disable Kaspersky while the ADW is being used)

On a slightly different tack I read recently Firefox has not been able to keep up the pace of some other browsers so have you tried any of the others?

the laptop is a HP 255 G3, and l have run quite a few of the apps over the past few weeks (havent used my laptop more than two or three times, only time lve dont anything on the net with it was downloading updates).

tho lm still confused as to why both my PC and laptop have occasional explorer crashes.. makes no sense considering there two different pieces of hardware, the only thing thats the same is a few pieces of software which never caused issues before.

Yes that is the confusing thing one would think one might be affected like that but both??

Look if you don't use that laptop that much why not try a system restore because as you say the only thing you have basically been doing is updating on it and I am guessing an update maybe the problem/s.

Now as general rule on my 7 machines I only ever update security and anything to do with .NET stuff. So I think it is worth a try.

generally l do my burning on the laptop and over the summer tend to use my laptop more while let my system rest, l always tend to find my room gets way too hot with a PC on as much as mine is..

but next crash l'll try another DM dump if it happens again, though l am contemplating putting some money by for a possible upgrade.. maybe by summer l might have enough by for something interesting.
