Solved BSOD while Patching ArcheAge, caused by driver ntoskrl.exe

So it looks like this, correct?

That's correct yeah.

Now Steve is in here we may follow different paths and ask you to do different things, if that happens be sure to follow one first and respond before following the other. We don't mind waiting and will both work through this with you, we just don't want to confuse you.

Feel free to ask anything at any point and let us know if we're moving too fast or are confusing things with different approaches.

Have you tried FurMark again? I'm starting to lean towards some nVidia software being the root cause of this.

Ok, something is wrong. Your ram timings or frequency is wrong and your graphics card is running at X4 and should be running at X16. Could you look at the inside of your computer and tell me first which pcie slot your graphics card is in? It should be in the top X16 slot closest to the CPU. This is your board. Is the Graphics card in the slot outlined in Red?

I believe your system specs show a sound card installed. Which slot is the sound card in? You should look at you manual and see which slots are shared with each other and make sure that you do not have anything installed in any slot that is shared with PCIe X16_1. If it is not too much trouble, could you take a picture of the inside of the case so Boozad and I can see it. Maybe we can see what the problem is.

Also, do you have any software installed that causes your internal graphics to be used with the dedicated card? The reason I want to know is that I may need you to change some settings in BIOS, and the answer to that question will determine what I need you to change.

I can't see anything that should make your graphics card run a X4. I don't believe this is the source of your problems, but it may make your computer run a little better. It appears and CPUz shows your ram installed in the last 2 Dimm Slots. It should be, and would probably run better if you installed the ram in the 2 Blue slots (slot number 2 and 4, I believe) as is recommended in your manual. That should make your ram run in Dual Channel mode rather than in single. From your manual

Please go into BIOS and see what your Sata controller is set to right now. By default Asus Boards usually are in AHCI mode, which is good. It should be on the advanced tab under one of the sections. It will say IDE, AHCI or RAID. and let me know. Also see if you can see your PCIe configuration and see what your options are.

Before swapping Ram slots, please make sure the computer is off, the power supply is turned off, and then hold the start button for 20-30 seconds or until you see the board LEDs turn off. That makes sure the capacitors are drained and will keep your Boyfriend from getting shocked or static electricity from damaging the ram.

I can tell you since I had to play with the Sata for SeaTools that it is set to AHCI, I had to set it to IDE when I tested, then switched back.

I will relay this info to him and see what he can do. Thing is he built it 3 years ago and is wondering why it would cause problems now vs 3 years ago.

The way the ram is set, it will run fine. I think I said I don't believe this is the source of the problem. It's just that it will run better and more efficient if the ram is set right (both in the Blue Slots). But, it will run fine the way it is.

As far as anything else. Parts malfunction over time occasionally or drivers get too old to handle new games and programs. It is just the nature of the beast, if you know what I mean. A computer is like your car. You will have the Battery go out or a starter malfunction and need replacing occasionally. Things just get some age on them and quit working right.

What program are you using to watch your GPU and CPU temps as well as ram and Vram usage? Is Arceage the only game you are having trouble with? Would you do a test for me please? Unplug the TV from the back of the Motherboard and only use the Monitor plugged into the Graphics card.. Unplug all USB devices from the computer except for mouse and keyboard. Play the game that way and see if your results are any better.

  • Download the 347.88 driver linked below for your 750ti

This is wierd. I was able to remove the nVidia Virtual Audio device with Device Manager, but now I can't remove the other nvidia stuff from the Control Panel. I hit uninstall/change and it does nothing, almost like it ignores it. I say ignore because I can remove other programs but not nvidia. I did a clean install of the driver software linked to me, but I don't know how to remove the 5 programs you see here (if I'm even supposed to remove them)
