Hi, I recently built my computer and at random times while playing battlefield I'll get BSOD and it says dxgmms1.sys and also Page_Fault_In _Nonpaged_Area. My drivers are all up to date. I even tryed reformatting and re-doing everything and I'm still having the issue.

If you need anymore additional information please let me know.

I have attached the file as specified in the Instructions post.

Thanks
Jon

No files attached try this method.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

you dont need to "view" it. It isnt text anyway. All you need to do is to drag it to your desktop and compress it.

I keep trying to Zip up the file using Winrar but it keeps saying access denied and wont zip up the DMP files. It just zipped the file folder. Is there something else i can do or a solution to this problem?

Access denied? Are you a regular user or admin?

You might need to take ownership of the files. See "tale ownership shortcut" in our tutorial section here.

I just followed the tutorial in taking ownership, and its still not working. When I try upload the file its saying this: You do not have permission to open this file. contact the file owner or an administrator to obtain permission.

I looked around tutorials and stuff and I cant seem to figure why this is happening.

So take it you are not an administrator?

Ok if you cant open it can you right click it go to properties>security> and see who the owner is?

I am confused. First you say you cant "view" the file, then you cant "open" the file, now you dont have the permissions to "upload" the file?

If upload is correct you may be too new to upload anything. when is your join date?

You need to start your own thread and upload it there. It gets confusing when remedies are offered and there are two ppl in need of help.

Download it for this thread and upload it to the other. BTW if you run a cleaner like ccleaner it will delete them.

I did some research and im about 90% sure that the blue screen im getting is a defect in my GPU. I have a EVGA GTX 460. But im not sure why im having a problem uploading the minidump file. If you could please give me detailed instructions on how exactly to upload the file, I might be doing something wrong.

Thanks Alot!
Jon

In the reply form (like I am now using) there is a paperclip shaped icon. Click it. A popup windows should appear. IF an error appears you may not yet have the rights to upload.
