BSOD while playing max payne 3 or minecraft

I have a 6 month old gaming rig which runs almost anything flawlessly and I've been playing minecraft for almost the entire 6 months. then about a month ago it started crashing while playing mutliplayer, closing itself and random applications, and occasionally it would BSOD. it continued and got progressively worse. then max payne 3 came out a few days ago and it's one of the most excellently coded PC games I've ever played, and yet I crash at least 5 times a day and get BSOD at least twice a day. it only happens on these 2 games and only when I'm playing multiplayer. neither games are causing too much stress because I've played much more demanding games for much longer periods of time.

things I've tried: did a complete defrag of my entire hardrive and a complete error check of my entire PC which took half a day, uninstalled and wiped all drivers then reinstalled, checked for viruses, restored BIOS to default and also tried about a hundred fixes each for both games.

my specs:
windows 7 64 bit
Radeon HD 5770
AMD Phenom 9850 quad core
8 GB RAM
1.5 TB HDD

I ran a diagnostic program designed specifically for BSODs and it told me that a bunch of different .sys files were responsible for the crashes, including win32k.sys, atikmpag.sys, dxgmms1.sys and ntoskrnl.exe for one of them. a couple were unkown. every crash was caused by one file and usually varying from the last

again, this only happens on multiplayer for both games and they never slow down before the crash. I have a wireless adapter plugged in but I use a wired connection, if that's relevant at all.

I've attached the 3 most recent .DMP files.

I'm not sure if it's related, but after one of the crashes an autoplay window came up for a floppy disk drive that I don't actually have. when I click on it, it says ''please insert a floppy disk drive''. it shows up in my device manager and everything but I don't actually have it.

After analyzing the crash files report i do suggest you to complety uninstall the video driver and then install the latest video driver from AMD website.Also it is recommended that you uninstall and reinstall the games which gives you the bluescreen.Hope this fixes your issue.

I completely wiped all video drivers and used driver sweeper then reinstalled them from AMD's website. I must have reinstalled minecraft about 50 times, literally. if max payne wasn't 29 GB I might consider reinstalling but it's highly unlikely that it will help.

I did read it and found it a bit unreasonable but I attached the 3 latest .DMP files. the reason I didn't include the error report in the actual thread is because I couldn't figure out how to open a .DMP file and I was instructed to just attach the file itself anyway.

Why do you find it unreasonable?

Without it, I have no idea what software you have installed that might cause conflicts, what security software is installed, what problem devices you have on the system, whether you have any forced hardware, whether your BIOS is up to date, whether you... I think you get the picture. You leave us debugging your crashes basically in the dark.

I also do not see the .dmp files attached that you say are attached...

I attached them and the other guy seems to have analysed them but I can try attaching them again. and I found it unreasonable because it wanted me to download like 5 different programs. I figured the DMP files and my description of my specs and the situation would be sufficient. I prefer to only use the default windows security utilities. how would I update my BIOS? and if there is any other information that would be helpful just ask me and I'll do my best to answer.

thanks, I reset my BIOS to default so I don't think it's anything to do with that.

understandable I guess. the only thing I didn't do was a health check, most of the BSOD forums I've seen merely have a description of the problem and the .DMP files so I figured that would be enough. when your resources aren't so scarce I would be grateful if you could take a look at the .DMP files and see if they help at all.

ok I figured out what was happening, those .DMP files are definitely there now. I don't know what the error code is and I don't know how to check apart from playing multiplayer until my PC crashes again and I figured all of that information would be in the .DMPs that were SUPPOSED to be there.

The bugcheck code WOULD be shown had the dump file been present. It was not when I looked.

You seem to be getting address errors from several drivers, applications and services. This could be a faulty memory module and/or files.

Start by running Memtest86+ . If no errors, then go to the next step otherwise follow Step 3 and report back.

Run sfc /scannow. Use Option 2. Follow the instruction for running multiple times if it finds errors.

You also have some drivers that are suspect for causing problems but check memory and sys files for now.

I attempted to follow the instructions for BSOD threads but the first one (BSOD dump and system file collection) had no link and just told me to put my .DMP files in a different folder. the second one instructed me to type ''perform /report'' in the start menu which returned no results and I tried it in command prompt too which again returned no results. I don't know what you mean by full crash reports so can you tell me where they are and how to post them. I ran memtest through the night and now I'm running sfc scannow. I'll try to update the drivers you mentioned but I want to save uninstalling everything as a last resort.

I'm trying to cooperate as much as I can. the instructions tell me to do 2 things that have no results or effect, I did them anyway but they're not going to help.
