Solved BSOD - Windows 7 often for no reason

Hi guys,

Having a long standing problem with BSOD's that I can't seem to solve. They only happen at idle and not in games. Could someone kindly take a look at my dumps attached and see if they can solve it for me. I can't instal SP1 either cause when I do it BSOD's and have to restore.

I have all the latest drivers and BIOS.

Please follow these steps in this order,


Update Packet Sniffer SDK Bandwidth monitor

Unistall your nvidia software\driver,download and install the most recent from NVIDIA Drivers

Update DirectX

Download install update SUPERAntiSpyware

Download install update Malwarebytes

Restart in safe mode
Full can with superantispyware,finish.
Full scan with malwarebytes.
Restart in normal mode and again,
Full can with superantispyware,finish.
Full scan with malwarebytes.

Finish with the above steps and post back with any results.

Have done the scans and for all but a few cookies there was nothing. Did the verification check and it said Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.. Do you want me to upload the log file?

I have completed what you asked me to do and the SFC thingy still comes up with the same error with the corrupt files. The disk check ran without error as far as I could tell.. What would be the next step.

Ok I completed the repair and it took a long time but it’s done. The crashing is still present and already have 3 new crash dumps.. It has crashed twice without generating a report as well. The screen goes blank and all the fans race.

I ran the integrity check again and that doesn’t report errors now but when I tried to install SP1 I still get the BSOD on boot up after and have to do a system restore.

What can you suggest at this point?

Attached are the files requested. I ran the OCCT GPU test for an hour last night will no errors and ran memtest for 2 full passes as well without errors. Ran Prime95 and that also had no errors but only ran that for a half hr or so.

Long story short the board has died.. I'll update this thread when I receive the new board.

Before you order and buy a new one do you have the time to try something first?

Can you kindy provide a link to the resource?

Basicly when I turn it on nothing happens now. The fans and stuff start up and then nothing. There is a little screen on the motherboard that displays the boot codes but nothing at all displays now. A reset of the bios does nothing to help, I have also tried taking the bios battery out for sometime as well. I have tried pulling all the components and that didn't help either. No error shows up at all. This happened after I re-seated the video card..

Check well all the cables.
Then try to plug the video card in other pci slot and see if that helps.
If the above steps doesnt help try these steps for flashing the bios with the first bios version for your EVGA e760 .
Find and download the oldest bios for your motherboard,the first and default bios the one that came with the motherboard.
Start the pc enter bios set it to factory default.
Then flash bios using the usb proceture.

Finish restart,enter bios set it to factory default,restart,let windows to run,restart,enter bios,set again bios factory defaults,restart,let again windows to run,restart and for last time enter bios and make any changes you want,restart in windows,finish.

Tip: the usb bios flash\update method is the best and more secure.

With simple words set motherboard bios to factory defaults then flash it with the bios V.1 using a usb flash drive method.

I hope this will recover your motherboard.

Thanks for the suggestions. I managed to get it running again. There is an issue with the power supply or so I think. The configuration that I had it hooked up to the motherboard before no longer works and I have to use a different rail to get it to boot. According to someone on the corsair forums I had the cpu plugged into the wrong 12v rail but it had been working fine up until now.

Perhaps because the psu is getting older the voltage on the rails is staring to differ enough for the board to get upset by it and perhaps it has been the cause of my BSOD's.. The system is back up and running now so I'll just have to wait and see if the BSOD's still occur now that I am using different rail.

One other thing I forgot to mention was that one of my RAID drives had a Reallocated Sector Count of 3. I'll be keeping an eye on this also. The drive is a couple of years old and not sure when they happened. Only annoyance is I have to the drive from the system to check it in another because HD tune doesn't show any details in windows when they are in RAID.

Oh and still have the problem with not being able to instal SP1..
