hello,

I want to thank everyone who contributes to this forum. It has been very helpful and i'm grateful to have found this site. However, i have found myself in a bit of a pickle with this one and i don't seem to be qualified to handle on my own, but I believe you guys may be. :D

I have provided pictures of the screens i can access. If it's not pictured, I have not been able to access it.

Here's what I'm working with:

Lenovo B570 - B Series Laptop
Serial Number:WB06182752
Machine Type Model:1068BAU
OS:Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Processor: Intel Huron River SV

Core Chipset: Intel HM65

CMOS RAM: 256bytes

HDD: 2.5" SATA 320gb (5400rpm)

Laptop is stuck in a boot loop which ends at a blank black screen , and picks up where at the very top it says "WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY"

I cannot access bios settings.
I cannot access safe mode.
I cannot access command prompt.

PC will boot up to the "STARTING WINDOWS" screen, Windows logo loads , goes to a blank black screen with the pointer for maybe 5 seconds roughly, then the backlight dims for maybe 5 seconds, and loops back to initial boot screen showing options to for bios F2 and F12.

No repair or recovery options are ever listed or shown, none of the safe modes work, last known good config does not work, and it does not want to boot by USB or CD/DVD

I have tried creating bootable USB using ISO files, such as: BartPE, UBCD4WIN, HBCD PE, HBCD 15.1, Linux Mint Mate14, Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Installation Disc (created using iso)

Last night, I found some blank cds and dvds, so i burned a windows 7 home premium 64bit bootable iso to a dvd using WinISO. It burned successfully, as i tried it on the PC i'm currently using and booted perfectly fine, (i've been testing the flash drives on this pc before i try them on the lenovo to ensure they're in working order)

In a nut shell, it's not getting past the Kernel loading phase.

Any help is greatly appreciated!:D

Hi

Interesting, thats not the usual place it falls over -

Can you try booting from Dissable driver signature enforcement option

from what i can find the driver relates to Aoemi back-up
if thats the case can you could try using the last image you created.

Good morning Roy, thank you for showing interest.

You are correct when you mention aomei. I had recently put both aomei and macrium on both laptops. However, Im not seeing an image for the Lenovo. I'm going to try booting from disable driver signature and see what that results.

Also, I had just recently done a reinstall of win7 on the Lenovo, so im not worried about any data or programs.

With that being said, (pardon me if something I say doesn't make sense. I've been learning about all this just over the last few weeks) I have been trying to create bootable media that would boot into MSDOS or free dos, since this Lenovo (based on the product manual) came with free dos pre-installed, seemingly. Am I wasting my time with that

That's where I'm at.

Once I was able to select that option, it goes to the "starting windows" with logo, followed by black screen with pointer, and back to "windows error recovery" page, back in the loop.

I have it sitting on the ADVANCED BOOT OPTIONS screen right now.

If you are not able to get into bios, deatch all peripherals ( including the hard disk) and use a process of elimination to figure what is stopping bios access.

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Installation Disc (created using iso)

Boot from the installtion disc. Select "repair my computer".

Use cmd prompt, type
regedit
load the system hive from your windows\system32\config folder

If you name the loaded hive SYS

delete upperfilter ambakdrv from

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYS\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
and if it exists
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYS\ControlSet002\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}

also set start type to 4 in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYS\ControlSet001\services\ambakdrv
and if it exists
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYS\ControlSet002\services\ambakdrv

These pics help indicate what you are looking for. But of course you look in the hive you have just loaded.

Alternatively, use the installation boot media to do system restore to a point before you had the problem.

I have removed peripherals and the hdd, powered on, and has landed me on bios password screen. This password was set before I bought the laptop.

I put the win7 setup dvd in and it has actually booted. Hdd is still removed. Now, would it beneficial to do a clean install instead of restore

Nothing wrong with a clean install. Do you have another HD that doesn't cause issues getting into bios?

SIW2 -- I apologize for the delayed response. I have dedicated the rest of my evening to this issue. Now, i did start the repair option from booting win 7 setup media, and i'm in registry editor. I'm confused by when you said....

"load the system hive from your windows\system32\config folder"

can you explain what you mean by this?

Again, i appreciate your help with this.

You are searching in the registry of the boot media.

You need to load the system hive from your windows installation.

1. CLICK HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE TO HIGHLIGHT IT IN BLUE

View attachment 411354

2. CLICK FILE > LOAD HIVE

View attachment 411355

3. BROWSE TO YOUR INSTALLED WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM HIVE
