Solved BSOD Windows has Recovered from an Unexpected Shutdown

Hello, all. As a word of warning, you are dealing with a technologically challenged lady. I leave my laptop on all the time, in the sleep mode with the cover down when I am not using it. I use Google Chrome and have approximately 8 windows open at a time, most with 20 or 30 tabs at a time. I restart it at least once a week. I received a BSOD earlier today. Unfortunately, I did not write the code down at the time, but restarted Windows in the normal mode then received Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. I could only do snips of the details but I can retype them for you here:

Thank you Axeo. When I went to the web page you gave me for the updates, I expanded each of the listed
equipment types, bios, etc. 52 separate downloads were shown.

I guess I would download all of them and then install them?



Will doing this also resolve the problem with the Qualcomm Atheros Wi-fi driver problem?

Is there a way to receive all these updates automatically? I noticed that there was an HP Support Assistant that can automatically check for and install updates so I watched the video for that and followed the instructions but after following all the steps indicated, it said there were no updates available.

Most likely yes, but you have to at least install the Atheros network drivers.

It is strongly recommended to install and find drivers manually for at least following reasons

• No corrupted drivers are installed, if there are you can simply reinstall them with a new download,
• The correct drivers are being downloaded/installed.

Dear AxeO: Thank you for all your help. I downloaded and installed every single software and driver that was listed as being available for my laptop. Some were already installed and wouldn't upgrade, but I probably downloaded and installed around 45 of them. I probably installed things I didn't even need! However, the Atheros Wireless LAN driver was one of the network drivers listed that I did install. Hopefully this will resolve my blue screen issue. Again, I appreciate all the help that was given me by yourself and also by derekimo. Be blessed.
