BSODs browsers crashing frequently

browsers crash so often, this is my third attempt. just trying to upload file, will provide more details if i can

my brother brought over a burned dvd on easter, played fine, nothing weird happened. the next day BSODs like woah, firefox and chrome crashing at random intervals. i tried system restore, malwarebites, no dice. i'm not a hundred percent sure the DVD was the culprit, but its a big coincidence if its not. hopefully i did the diagnostic thing right, i'll try and upload. earlier something strange happened where i had no sound, could not open the volume menu, tried to click shut down, nothing happened. had to give the old power button smothering to restart and now it seems okay.occasionally when it restarts after a blue screen windows does some automatic disk check thing that takes about 5 minutes and says its fixed a bunch of things, but nothing actually happens. when i start up a lot of programs crash right away. something called catalyst control or something like that. gonna post before i crash again

ive also had about 4 or 5 bluescreens since i ran SF. i can do it again if that matters.

Memtest86 will test your RAM

   Information

Run Memtest86 for at least 8 passes so we get enough information to confirm that your RAM isn't failing

Afterwards (If you find no errors with Memtest86) can you enable Driver Verifier.


Enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier -Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning

Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point Manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

• If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
• If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

is there anyway i can run memtest without a blank CD? maybe daemon tools or something? ( i am completely broke)

Ah that might be one of your problems, Daemon Tools is a well known cause of BSODs.
Remove it and see how you go.
