BSoDs randomly on various of games

Try clicking the start button, in the search box type task scheduler, click on the entry, click on the Asus folder and uninstall all of the tasks. I'm just guessing here, but if you want to get rid of it all, just delete the whole Asus folder.

I'm beginning to run out of ideas. Try this, if you find any of them.

  1. Open Services.msc (open the Start Menu, type services.msc, and then press Enter)
  2. Look for the following services:
    • ASUS Com Service
    • ASUS HM Com Service
    • ASUS System Control Service
  3. Change both "ASUS Com Service" and "ASUS HM Com Service" to Stop.
  4. Change "ASUS System Control Service" to Disabed.

Still nothing about ASUS in services.msc either. I'll see if I manage to get a BSoD after we've done all of that.
If you still have something in mind, tell me and I will check it out.

Do you have CCleaner? Have you ever used it before? I'm reluctant to do this as it can cause you to have to reinstall Windows, but I've used it on occasion a number of times.

I've used it on a several computers, and I used it on this computer only once to clean up reg files, because one of my games stopped working and I had to mess up with it's registry files etc. and I wanted to remove all unnecessary regfiles regarding that game/program.

So... Is there anything else I could test out?
There are no place nearby which would sell a powersupply tester, so I can't do that.
Also, is there any kind of possibility of it being the windows? If so, how high possibility?

Also, if there is nothing else to do, I will RMA my GPU once I get from my holiday (the week after the next week will be the holiday week.)

I don't recall if we did this already, but we could try a pure vanilla clean Install, with nothing except the OS and Microsoft security essentials installed and see if you get any crashes from that.

With Graphics card problems, nothing I am aware of is involved other than the Graphics Card, Motherboard and PSU. Unfortunately, there is no way to test the Motherboard. or PSU under stress without some expensive equipment. Just because you tried a different motherboard slot, it could still be the Motherboard itself is defective. So, at this point it is a judgment call. If possible, the surest and easiest way to test would be if you have or have a friend who would help you, and swap Graphics cards with him. If you have no problems but he does. that would prove that the card is the problem. If that does not happen, I would try to borrow another PSU to test, just temporarily, just long enough to see. Those can be done without an RMA of anything and spending no money, when it may or may not be the problem.

I will ask some people for a spare card to test.

Anyways, I think it's something between the card and the driver.
Remember the screenbug I get in Driver Verifier? I have this feeling that some kind of operation in the driver causes the GPU to screw up. If I will not get anyone swap cards with me sooner or later, I will RMA this card and see if it helps.

Also, is it normal for the RAM timings be different than they should be, or could it also be some kind of a clue?

TheJmJ, Thanks for the screenshots. Exactly what I needed. I am going to show you 3 of the pictures I have used my crayons on. the first 2 are self explanatory.

View attachment 336120

The next one shows what your card should be running at and what it is running at. There may be a very good logical explanation for it.

View attachment 336119

What this should say is both should be x16. What this is saying is your card is running at X8 when it is capable of running at X16, which in itself would not make the card crash,

I switched the place a while ago, just to test out if it really was the PCI-E slot.
Should I put it back?

Have you had any BSODs since you swapped pcie slots? If not, just leave it there to see if it works well. I jyst noticed on the CPUz screenshots the card was running at X8 instead of x16. That is fine and probably a result of changing slots. You should not notice very much of a performance lag there anyway. It's a good test for the card.
