Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal for all around pc - Newegg.com Shopping Cart

or this bundle - Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

decided to build myself and get a lot more for my dollar, but undecided about AMD vs Intel

one more - Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

I know this is very hard for me to decide what to do - so any help is appreciated.:D

not a big gamer, but do a lot of video rendering and such so maybe a different case is better, just want a nice quiet with decent air flow. thanks again

t41,
The first cart is showing empty. I like the second but that's because it's very close to my current system and I just can't say enough about it ! lol. The Intel system is banging as well but I'm not keen on Seagate and would go with WD for sure or even a Hitachi Desk or Samsung Spinner in lieu. My gut tells me you may enjoy the AMD for it's graphics better? Lastly if you plan to OC at all then maybe look to go with the sealed water H70 from Corsair do it up with a fan controller and call it a day ! Jimmy is for sure a top 10 pick of all time.

In my opinion, the intel system is the better performer. However, I may choose some different parts. Don't go with the Seagate 7200,11, if you like Seagate go for the 7200.12 and unless you really need it, get 1 good video card not 2. Take the savings and get an SSD. Also, make sure that CPU cooler will fit into the Storm Scout.

OK my budget is around 1200 -1300 us dollars - I also like Hitachi or WD - but those particular packages came with seagate. had 3 external seagate HD crash within last 2 weeks lost over 2 TB of music.
I made my own up, but am not sure if everything is compatible. Have one AMD and one Intel also not sure if video card is that good. Need a tuner card as well but forgot to add it in for editing videos from vcr and such,

Thanks again for help:D

i have attached items in cart.
P.S. I like this case a lot also - http://www.apevia.com/productsInfo.asp?KEY=X-JUPITERS-BK

I too like the AMD option but, I would spend the extra 40 dollars and go ahead and get the 6 core (1090T) processor (Which is what I run and it is great!). I would add more RAM as well...

Looks good to me. I believe the case comes with a 4/8 pin extension cable. I am sure you will want to run the 24 pin power cable behind the MB. With it being a large case it might be advisable to buy an extension cable for that too. I always do, but rarely need them. I figure better safe than sorry.

Maybe I'm just blind, but I think you forgot an optical drive.

Or, do you have an old DVD/CD-RW drive you were going to re-use?

By the way, were you planning to run on a RAID 0 setup? I thought you might be, since you're buying two identical HDD's. Supposedly, Windows 7 has a pretty kickass built-in software-based RAID 0 facility.

I figured it was something like that. I'm definitely envious of your build.

Nice mobo. I'll probably use something similar when I build my dream system later this year (I hope). I have been disappointed with the mediocre lifespan and lousy documentation of Asus mobos, so it's time for a change.

It's kind of weird that they keep putting PATA and PS/2 mouse/keyboard connectors on motherboards, even really new ones like yours. PATA seems likely to stick with us for a long time, until everyone's old IDE and PATA optical drives have died, I guess. But when was the last time you owned a keyboard or mouse with a PS/2 connector?

What I like about the MSI mobo is the logic behind the placement and angle of all the headers. It's a well thought out board with just enough legacy to help out like you say. Anyone wants to see this mobo installed check out my pictures under my albums FYI.

I'm Thankful for the ide. I have an MSI 890GXM. It only has 5 sata headers with 1 taken up by the case headers. I bought a IDE CD/DVD to conserve on the sata connectors.

When you look at my specs and see my pic's you will see I had the very same issues and had to think my mobo and all my system spec's out very carefully. This MSI 890FXA-GD70 solved all my needs after I installed two sata/usb PCIe adapters. My system is crazy complicated and it was a mind bender to get it all right. Can't wait to see your build with this fantastic board !

Linne, I've already looked at your album it looks great! What pcie sata card did you get and did you install it in a pcieX16 slot? I've considered the same but don't know if that will make my 5770 run at x8.

EDIT: never mind. you have the fx model with several pcie slots. I just have 2 pcie x16 slots (X16 or X8 X8), no other pcie slots.
