Hello 7Forums,

I'm Jack and I signed up today. I've had this current computer I'm on for a little while and It just doesn't meet the requirements I need today.

I'm looking to build a computer with the following, the budget of under $2,000.

1.) 3 TB Harddrive.
2.) 32GB Ram.
3.) GTX 600-680 (Something in the price range that's good, not sure.)
4.) 5.1 Soundcard.
5.) Intel i7 3770K Motherboard.

I don't know anything else, there just basic beginning. If someone could help me out for the rest of the components I would need for a computer would be awesome.

Note: I'm so sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm new here and not sure where I'd post this.

For gaming you don't need an I7, or 32Gb of Ram

Here is a decent build

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB Video Card
Case: Antec Eleven Hundred ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast 850W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply

Throw in a SSD, another hd for storage, and Water Cooling and you will still be under your budget.

Have a look at this chart

Thanks, though the reason I need i7 and 3770k is because. I run 20 java applications that are 850,000-1,100,000kB each.

Could you maybe suggest a build for my requirements? I'm also sorry for not including that in the main post. :/

I am going to post this that I got from another great site, I have used it many a times when I am ready to build a PC and for other things as well, it is very thorough and if you answer all of those questions, not only will be able to get better answer but you will get the PC you were looking for... hope it helps

After that we can help you get all of your components cheap (ie: good but cheap ;)) as well... we love to spend other peoples money :D

If you're gonna ask us to build/list a PC for you or seek advice about a build, please answer all of the following questions:

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
6) Will you be overclocking?
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

By answering these questions you help us help you build a PC that's of better quality, better performing, cheaper or all of the above.
