Hello.Whenever I try to install the driver for my onboard sound card(Asrock C-media Ac97) the following error is rendered:

I found the driver on this thread: UDA051_build01_Logo51.3_Standard_.rar (PeterBoard's post)

Please help me fix my sound problem, and thanks.:)

*motherboard is AsRock P4V80

mgary welcome to the forums.

What you're running into is old hardware with no support for new operating systems. In your case it is the old C-Media audio chip that has no support any more and no driver even available from C-Media.

One thing you can try (short of buying a sound card that does have Windows 7 support) is try the XP driver from here,

ASRock > Products > Motherboard > P4VM800 > Download

and install it in Compatibility mode,

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

Just make sure to uninstall any previous driver that you have installed before trying the above.

This thread is old but the following info might help others.
For the Asrock motherboard model 775i65G (Audio Controller INTEL 82801EB, Cmedia 9761A 5.1 channel audio CODEC) I have used Audio Driver Version: 5.12.1.49 from Asrock. It works just fine except for some limitations in the Mixer controls. By the way you can't record sound out from your speakers with this old MOBO.
