C:\Username\Directory1 Vs. C:\Users\Username\Directory1

When I use Windows Explorer to go to C:\Username\Favorites\Subdirectory1\Subdirectory2, I see different content than when I go to C:\Users\U Username\Favorites\Subdirectory1\Subdirectory2.


When I open Favorites from within Internet Explorer 9, I see the content of the second case (C:\Users\U Username\Favorites\Subdirectory1\Subdirectory2).


Why do I have two sets of similar, but not identical sets of Internet Explorer Favorites Subdirectories and Favorites files?

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 SP1 and I have Admin privileges. I know IE9 is not the latest version, but that’s what my company insists we use.

The real path is c:\users\username\favorites\......... this is the one Windows uses for everything user-specific. There is no reason why there should be a c:\username\........ folder at all. Presumably, it has been created by some user, perhaps in error, but it's not taken into account for anything. Just move its contents inside the users folder and it should merge both.
