Hi, I have a problem with my Users folder. It was deleted by accident, and wasn't in the recycle bin. I used a program to recover the missing data and tried to put them back in what I thought was the users folder. Part of the problem is that the users folder doesn't show up in the C-Drive, but the files seem to be there in another folder, lets call "junk". I'm sure I didn't get all of the files back,as the browser has no favorites. But basically everything else works ok. The laptop kept the user account name and Icon, and logs in ok. When I look in DOS, it says there is a user folder with user information in it, but when I use windows explorer to look, all of the info is in the C:\junk folder. I've tried to rename the junk folder to users, but there is no option for that. Also I created another user account with admin rights, which worked ok, but it put that info in the junk folder also. I tried to create a new user folder to copy the information into, but it acts like there's one there already, except I see it named junk. I un-hid all of the folders on the C Drive, and it's still not there. Is there any way to get my junk folder to be named users, like it used to be? Thanks for any help.

Thanks!

I used the Hiren's Boot CD to get the job done. I couldn't just rename the folder (I could but it didn't help) so I copied all of the files out of the "junk" folder into a new folder. I deleted the junk folder, created a new folder called "Users", copied the files back into it, and everything is fine on a normal boot, I now have all of my files back into a folder called "Users". Thanks again.
I can't for the life of me find the place to click that says solved. Can you mark this post as solved? Thanks!
