Can I change the boot order of my HDDs?

I have two 1TB HDDs and have just realised Win 7 is installed on Disk 1 (the first is Disk 0). I suspect this is why I can't get RollbackRx to install.

When I changed the boot order in BIOS the PC wouldn't start giving a NTLDR error. I used the Win Rescue Disk to get it to boot which switched the order back again.

How can I set my disk with OS to be first in the boot order?

Have you tried swapping the SATA cables so W7 is connected to SATA 0 ??

Sometimes the simple fix is the actual fix.... I have mine configured that way for security reasons... I have 3 exact match drives. With a random drive with my os. The The random drive is not on disk-0 and if my bios is reset ( in attempt to remove the password) they have to figure out which drive my boot drive is. Given this is pure preference...

Something tells me that you installed windows 7 on disk1 while disk0 was installed.
Windows does strange things when doing an initial install. It creates a small partition and
that normally ends up on the original boot disk.
I always install windows on the hard disk by making sure that no other hard disk is connected.
Once this is done, I then connect and format the 2nd disk.

I assume that you have tried booting your windows disk and doing a repair?

I have dos 6.22, wfwg 3.11, win98, 2000 and xp VHD's available for testing. MS's Virtual PC works great.
OK I swapped the SATA cables but got the NTLDR error. Switched boot order in BIOS as well and now my Win HDD is Disk 0 and boots OK. Didn't fix my problem with installing RollbackRx tho'.

I think richnrockville was right.
I'm wondering if a repair install will fix it ..
With only the W7 HDD installed at SATA 0 ?

I install my W7 without the reserved partition ..
so I don't have this problem and others
