Solved Can I disable the "Certificate Propagation" service?

I bought a Smart Card reader. Its instruction manual directs the user to "disable the 'Certificate Propagation' service from Service.msc in order for the card reader to function properly under Windows 7."

Should I do that?

Is the smart card reader labeled as plug and play? If yes, see the first note in this TechNet bulletin:

Well try the Smart Card Reader first. If it doesn't work with the Certificate Propagation enabled, then go ahead and disable it.

After reading the Technet bulletin that marsmimar provides a link to, which points out that the scope of the "Ceritificate Propagation" service is only confined to the plugging-in of a Smart Card into a Smart Card Reader (not something system-wide), I tried, as SlasherIT suggests, disabling the service. And my card reader now works fine.
