Asking is normal :) You'll learn more :)

Have experience with Kaspersky AV and Comodo firewall with D+. If you have Kaspersky AV already installed nstalling Comodo will be okay. But if you have Comodo installed first then install Kaspersky AV, it will ask you to remove all security apps prior installation.

I'd go for "Custom installation" instead of just "turning-off".

Used CIS without the AV and KAV 2011 without any issues. It will be a good thing to add exclusions for each on both apps settings.

Some good read HERE

How to skip scan for incompatible software when installing a Kaspersky Lab 2011 product?

KAV 2011 v 11.0.0.232 & Comodo Firewall

Comodo Firewall with Kaspersky Internet Security(Kaspersky firewall disabled)

Kaspersky 2009 and Comodo firewall (Kaspersky/Comodo compatability)

As for Norton I cannot say. See NIS 2011 + Comodo Firewall only Let's wait for other users to share here :)

Good luck :)

Personally I have done these type of things with other firewall suites and it is possible to do so but I think I wouldn't really recommend it even though you can make exceptions for each to overlook the other, but there are other components of these suites that can interact and cause BSOD's which you definitely don't want. I have found that picking yourself one good firewall suite that you feel comfortable with and is within your capacity to understand and configure would be the most important. Then have something such as Malwarebytes that doesn't conflict with most suites as a second scanner for malware. I have heard good things with Comodo which I have used and Norton which I haven't used and my Outpost which I use at the moment but can be a little temperamental on configuring until you really get used to it. Hope this helps somewhat. :)

If you can do it without installing Kaspersky's firewall then by all means go for it but if you can't I wouldn't do it personally.

Hi baxxter,

That's not a good idea...If you turn off the firewall in suites like KIS or NIS, the programs (at least with NIS) will keep on complaining that the firewall has been turned off (status indicated as being at risk; Norton icon will show a red cross in the system tray instead of a green checkmark). Also, it's simply not logical: if you want to run Comodo firewall, then it is best to simply buy only the antivirus program (for example Norton AntiVirus) instead of the whole suite. It will make no sense otherwise - why buy the whole suite, which includes the firewall, if you want to turn it off and install another third-party firewall?
You can look at this Norton product comparison chart over here:
Computer Security Systems | Compare Norton Products

Briefly: if you have a suite like NIS or KIS, then you don't need another firewall like Comodo Firewall. If you have only the antivirus program, then you definitely a firewall.

+1 It just a lot of hassle that I don't think you'll want.
