I always prefer to start fresh. But you can do an upgrade if you like. Atleast I had the option to when I installed RTM.

Quite a few people on the forum have reported problems upgrading from earlier builds to RTM. So i would recommend a fresh install.

Microsoft recommends clean, most ppl here do as well. Can you upgrade yes but you never know when, where, and how the glitches will show up

thanks, you guys are right, it is better to shed laziness and make a fresh install or would land into even bigger trouble :P
Anyone knows how to permanently activate it??

Hey :)

I've tried to upgrade to RTM, but there was an error, so I have to do a clean installation.

P.S.: I've read that there is trick to extend RTM up to 360 days via registry, but I haven't tested it yet. sry for my english : /

Dang, so I should just do a clean install? I literally just installed everything with the RC version and that took me like 5 hours. ****.

I guess I'm just really lazy to install everything again. I honestly want to just upgrade it, but Microsoft doesn't recommend that nor do you guys. I'm just being really stubborn and just want to take a quick shortcut. LOL

I'm not gonna go with the advice you guys gave me and I will "upgrade" and tell you guys what happened.

Okay! I just successfully upgraded to the RTM version and it took about an hour to do so. Starting up Windows seems slower than the RC version, but I'm happy with what I have right now.

I have a question. When you upgrade, does it install everything that is needed for the final version? What's the difference between a clean install and an upgrade? Clean install = no copying of files and Upgrade = copying of files?

final version? clean install means you have to re-install your apps but you dont import bloat, and any problems on the old OS. Updrade means you dont have to re-install apps but you import bloat and problems from the OS. there are other probs .
