Can you activate Home Premium with Professional code?

So I'm really confused on this and have searched around but still have yet to find anything.

I am in the process of completing my first PC build (yay) and want to install Windows 7 Professional on it. The thing is, I already have Win7 Professional on my laptop, and I planned to transfer the license from the laptop to the desktop. The problem is, I cannot find my professional installation CD ANYWHERE. I looked all around and it just...isn't there. Both my dad and brother even said they never remembered seeing a professional CD anywhere (but I'm sure I had it...). Anyway, what I did find was a Windows 7 Home Premium UPGRADE CD.

So can I just use that home premium upgrade CD on the new PC, and then use the professional activation key? I'm a bit confused because I read that upgrade CDs must be used on vista/xp systems, but since my build is completely fresh, theres nothing on it.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can turn your Home Premium disk into a universal disk for any version:

Keep in mind that the key must match the version you install.

One machine = 1 license.

1 license = 1 machine.

You will need two licenses.
