Hello,

I have two PC's running Windows 7 x64 (setup for Home network) and I am trying to share all the contents of the HDD's. I can access and delete files in most of the folders (not just the Public folder) but I cannot access the sub-folders under the "User" folder, I keep getting Access Denied. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thank you!

No suggestions about the "access denied" other than to note that such protection is necessary to prevent malicious entry to a machine.

Strategically speaking it's generally better to make 50 folder shares than it is to share the root of any disk drive. The risk of trashing a whole drive is too high. To grant access to folders inside a user's private space, share the folders seperately, not the drive.

I would agree with you on a Public or Workplace network but this is my Home network and it will be only myself accessing these PC's so I would say it's pretty safe.

But obviously not terribly functional...

Instead of sharing the drives from root... share the User folders.
