Cannot boot to windows after using Malwarebytes

They did answer my questions but they seemed to be more concerned about where I posted.
@LBB:

MBAE (Malwarebytes Anti-EXPLOIT) is a different software product.
Your four questions related to Malwarebytes Anti-MALWARE (MBAM).

In order for your questions to receive prompt attention and response from the appropriate personnel, staff and forum experts, your post was moved to the correct forum section. That is all.

Think of it like this: If a user were to post in EightForums.com with a question about Windows XP, would it not be advisable to move the post to the right forum section for attention by the right experts and forum helpers who deal with Windows XP, or to ask the user to post in the correct forum?

Or, closer to home, even sevenforums.com has different sub-forums. So, a question about Security needs to be posted in the Security section, not the Browser section, or the Windows Updates section, or the Sound and Audio section, or somewhere else.

It's not a big deal. We just tried to explain what was done and why.
:)

Cheers,

1. Yes
2. Quarantining for scan should NOT be set to automatic for scanning. You should choose to quarantine something rather than doing it automatically.
3. Yes
4. I presume you are speaking about Saturday's incident without actually mentioning it by name. Default quarantining is being reviewed.

FYI...updating and scanning was safe on Saturday early evening (may even be late afternoon, depending on where you are). Bottom line is that it's handled. and was a very isolated incident.

I hope this is help for some. It helped me.

Here is another MBAM forum thread regarding Quarantining with some interesting info.
https://forums.malwarebytes.org/ind...-affected-users-with-database-072609-problem/

I'm not sure what is the best setting to use for real-time (in the v2 Advanced Settings).

Well I have 4 machines running Malwarebytes PRO and I never knew there was an issue until now (WED AM). Mine scan everyday. I will continue using the product as an advanced user I know this kind of thing can happen.

Sorry B3astiie we kind of left you guessing. I was lucky I didn't get hit but I was somewhat angry that some members did get the problem.

What other security programs do you use?

What you did or a Clean Install is about the best way out of the problem you had.
Glad you got it fixed.

I normally just use malwarebytes and nothing else. To be honest it was bad luck too, I had just open it and got the update right when they sent it out and right after my pc was shot. But I know mistakes happen so it's no biggie, I just reset it.

Wonder if they would give me a free version of the paid one since I still rock with them? lol Thanks guys.

You should have one real-time AV program running (free pgms: Avast, AVG, or MSE).

You should ask Mbam - it would be great customer service to give all 10 users of confirmed incidents a lifetime license. It's their business, it's their call. It won't hurt to ask though.
