cannot connect to the internet

I am generaly somewhat handy with software issues but I cannot resolve this one.
Just loaded windows 7 and reloaded my wireless card software. I can see the local networks but I cannot connect to them. One is mine and one is an unsecured thats a nieghbors. Niether works after the instal.l My wireless router is a wnr 2000

My wireless card was bought about a month ago and i have no antivirus for firewalls. I disabled the microsoft firewall. My wireless card is an Encore enlwi-nx2 802.11n wireless adapter. It can see the local networks and the strength of the signals but when i try to connect it tells me that I am not connected

Open up command prompt, and type:

ipconfig/renew

What does it do? Can you connect now?

are you using auto ip or manual ip address?
